The thoughts of Nisargadatta Maharaj

Is the mind the same as the body? What is consciousness? Can machines have it?

Firstly: The I that is assumed to be looking - is not looking at all. The I and the ALL is the ''Looked Upon''.
There's a reallyBIG, Yuge Difference Richard, a weeelie big big OoohG oooj, difference!! Savvy!

Secondly: There is no looking through the eyes of God, because God cannot be on both sides of the telescope at the same time. No more than a physical eyeball can turn inward on itself and see the actual source of what's looking, then be able to say, eeeeh, eh-o, hello lickle eyeball, nice to meet you finally, I always wondered what you looked like, well now I know what the looked upon looks like, it looks like an eyeball, whooopie doo!

Thirdly: In order to know that all is well, there would also need to be in place a comparison, like for example: All is NOT-WELL.
So that, ALL IS WELL can be known only as it is also known that ALL IS NOT ...well, you know, NOT WELL.

That it cannot be, according to you, does not indicate how it can be, which is what's required for understanding.
Could it be that you lack the understanding to comprehend how this large statement can be true?
Yes, it could be.

Interesting how folks can be so proud and assertive of their ignorance. This is because in order for ignorance to exist, consistent and repetitive displays of ignorance are a prominent element within a Self-Concept. You display ignorance to maintain the self-concept of Troll, in an effort to create The Troll World.

*

Question: Out of what do I create this world?

SNM: Out of your own memories. As long as you are ignorant of yourself as the creator, your world is limited and repetitive. Once you go beyond your self-identification with your past, you are free to create a new world of harmony and beauty. Or you just remain — beyond being and non-being.

There is no such IT as a cannot not IT.
Here, there is only an IT that can BE both Can and Cannot that Cannot not be either a can or a not can.

Cannot implies a NOT can. As in Cannot. So a NOT simply cannot not not. A cannot cannot not be a can not, can it not? yes it can, it can not.

Gary said to Richard: ''Just shut up, kid''

Richard in arrogant defiance said to Gary: ''Make me''

Meanwhile, Nisagadatta said: “Putting words together will not take you far. Go within and discover what you are not. Nothing else matters.”

So Richard, since you cannot follow you're own advice, would you like to use this black, grey, red and white ''gadet'' to make your actual point as clear as mud? I guess you've just shot yourself in the foot posting that quote haven't you. It's no wonder you're parents decided on first look at you to call you Richard.

The point is, trolling your own thread with nonsense won't take you far.

What advice is that?

Say ... you must agree, you're the poster child for this observation.

Question: Don’t you become a robot?

SNM: "What harm is there in making automatic, what is habitual and repetitive? It is automatic anyhow. But when it is also chaotic, it causes pain and suffering and calls for attention. The entire purpose of a clean and well-ordered life is to liberate man from the thraldom of chaos and the burden of sorrow."

Oh, ok Richard.

I'll be sure to update my inner-net's biological computer mechanism with that 'old as time' little pearl of wisdom.

Hmm, how to say this 🤔 Where-ever you go there you are.

Affirmative Richard.

Without anger or defiance, now that I’ve illustrated how to make you realize that trolling your own thread is inappropriate, the thread can continue to offer potentially helpful viewpoints for those earnestly seeking peace of mind, such as folks tormented by uncontrollable, chaotic thoughts that lead to tantrums and childish demands for others to “shut up.”

However if the reader’s cup is not full of bile, or whatever else may cause dear reader to plug fingers into ears, squeeze eyes tightly shut, and sing lalalala to close the sensory gates and focus on maintaining, grooming, cultivating, and amplifying ignorance … then there may be room in the cup for a splash of piss and vinegar to spice up the dialogue, as long as the doseage doesn’t cause the cook to call me Late … for dinner.

*

Question: Since reality is all the times with us, what does self-realization consist of?

SNM: “Realization is but the opposite of ignorance. To take the world as real and one’s self as unreal is ignorance, the cause of sorrow. To know the self as the only reality and all else as temporal and transient is freedom, peace and joy. It is all very simple. Instead of seeing things as imagined, learn to see them as they are. When you can see everything as it is, you will also see yourself as you are. It is like cleansing a mirror. The same mirror that shows you the world as it is, will also show you your own face. The thought ‘I am’ is the polishing cloth. Use it.”

Where-ever you go there you are.
Wherever you go, go and troll no more, and there you will be, an authentic, sincere, and earnest human being full of joy and light, ready to be worth something for someone.

For instance, for those anguished about the activities of man on earth, it would be good to realize that only he is real and all the world is temporal.

I would wish you luck wherever you are, but there's always the possiblilty you can't handle it, or at least, you can't understand it when it appears because of trolls livin' it up in your noggin and hopefully causing just your gums to flap.

:) Have a good day.

the thraldom of chaos

What a great line!
(Those words could take one far ...)

Nissy, his translators, and some of his commentators are just awesome, wouldn't you agree?

Dearest Richard, I thought you might be in need of a helping hand after off loading that rather Yuge load of baby gravy all over my thread, what a mess you've made, you messy baby. I mean you just keep cumming around my threads that often now, the rapidly depleting dumping of your messy spunk junk must be causing a very concerning shrinkage problem in you're Richard Head.

So I've taken the liberty to swing by to offer a solution for you. I thought this 'Devil Candy' would be the perfect fix for all your little Richard problems.
I hope you don't mind, because I more than anyone else on this forum, really do want the best for you.
Truly I say to you, I would love to see your Little Richard Consciousness Expand.

Oh, and Richard, before I leave, do try to resist the temptation to overdose, be careful, and good luck with you're expansion plan. Sieze the day Richard.
