"Who needs love of wisdom when scientists can build devices on their own that are capable of murdering people exponentially more efficiently than prior technology?"
Don't u dare mister. Philosophy has murdered more people than science can ever hope to, gary. And it's killing us now even as we post. Your homegirl RL writes:
"Traditional Philosophy is quintessentially a 'conceptual enquiry', which directly or indirectly centres on what certain words mean — such as, 'time', 'space', 'matter', 'knowledge', 'belief', 'existence', 'identity', 'meaning', 'language', 'causation', ‘thought’, ‘consciousness’, 'justice', 'freedom', 'fate', 'good', 'evil', 'god', 'soul', etc., etc. —, but this provides us with a clue to the source of its impotence and why it hasn't advanced one nanometre closer to a 'solution' to its many 'problems' than Plato or Aristotle themselves managed over two thousand years ago."

Re: Science is Dead!
Fair enough. We'll just call philosophy "dead" and leave scientists to do whatever politicians tell them to. Does that sound like a better "solution" to RL?promethean75 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 8:21 pm "Who needs love of wisdom when scientists can build devices on their own that are capable of murdering people exponentially more efficiently than prior technology?"
