Satire and Philosophy

Post by Gary Childress »

Does satire have a place in philosophy? I think Voltaire totally went termite on Liebnitz with Candide? If you can't beat him, join him and then trash yourself beside him in the process!

Satire, as a form of communication could be used to describe philosophical ideas, but especially in written form (bypassing nonspoken communication) stands a high chance of being more confusing than clarifying.

IN philosophy? I am not so sure. Maybe.

But it definitely has a place in attacking philosophy.

There's nothing more entertaining than laughing at those who are take themselves too seriously to laugh at themselves.

LOL

What do 'you' think or BELIEVE "skepdick" in 'philosophy', itself, that could even be ATTACKED?

It would be like SAYING or CLAIMING that 'science', itself, could be ATTACKED.

Or, that Nature and/or Existence, could be ATTACKED.

or, that 'fiction' or 'non-fiction', could be ATTACKED.
