Guessing the correct answer is cheaper/easier/requires less effort than skilfully acquiring the correct answer.

Luck is more parsimonious than skill if/when it works, so there's absolutely nothing wrong with knowledge acquired by pure luck.

I suppose in the sense of certain reasons being considered right and wrong and one turns to luck to find out the issue if all else fails i see it has Sherlock Holms presented once ,Once you have ruled out the the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
