My Metaphysics
Re: My Metaphysics
Which sub was the most expensive one?
I don't know why, but whenever I eat at Subway, I ask them to grill the chicken extra long but it always makes me queasy regardless, same with their cheese... Yet any other fast food or restaurant is fine. Subway is iffy.

A lie.
Subway doesn't have a realtime grill and the chicken is precooked and kept in a chilled container at the preparation bar.

Re: My Metaphysics
The Philly cheese steak wuz the most expensive. That's always the most expensive one at any sub shop dude, becuz steak costs more than chicken, tuna and cold cut meat. Duh.
Re: My Metaphysics
They microwave the chicken, bub... I meant microwave.promethean75 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 10:57 am"whenever I eat at Subway, I ask them to grill the chicken extra long"

Re: My Metaphysics
Show me a menu from a sub shop that has a Philly cheese steak that isn't the most expensive one on that menu. U can't do it.
Re: My Metaphysics
I only go to Subway about once or twice per year, you're the expert. It seems dodgy to me, considering how undercooked their meat is, and how long they leave it uncooled every week.
Re: My Metaphysics
Dust never goes away, where would it go, it's here to stay, forever.

Re: My Metaphysics
Americans have such low expectations when it comes to food. I was sucked in by the false advertising and bought a subway thing once. I wasn't sure what to do with the soggy mess I ended up with. Same with McDonalds and Burger King. Why do people buy that shit? I used to make my children the most amazing hamburgers with everything in them. A healthy balanced meal.promethean75 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 10:59 am The Philly cheese steak wuz the most expensive. A few reasons, being laziness, convenience, instant gratification, an instant sense of pleasure, a buzz or a high, so to speak.
In the same context anything that gives you an instant fix that will hit the spot when it comes to any craving, longing or desire, the hit usually makes people feel pleasured. Often these foods are appealing to the taste buds with what they contain, deliberately added to cause habitual addiction and cravings. There is nothing wrong with the choices people make in life as long as they are willing to face the consequences of their choices responsibly, instead of blaming the companies that sell these foods.
Humans are naturally pleasure seekers.
And even healthy food that you make from scratch yourself is no guarantee of a healthy disease free life.

Yeah well u didn't make anything like this burger. This burger is a Hawaiian medium rare burger doused by a special sauce with melted swiss, pineapple and glazed jalapenos on a lightly buttered toasted sesame bun... served with a restaurant made macaroni medley salad and single spicy dill pickle declared kosher.

Re: My Metaphysics
Just out of curiosity...What difference does it make whether Jesus was just a man with an understanding of God or Jesus was "God incarnate"?
The important point seems to be whether Jesus presents a good philosophy of life or not.
Does it work? Is it nonsense? Should one adopt Jesus' way of living?
In regard to capitalism or socialism, big government or small government, the individual or society, competition or cooperation...what does it mean to adopt Christ's way of living?
Same with issues like abortion and guns and sexuality and animal rights and war and social justice and drugs, etc...how would one embody His philosophy of life?

Re: My Metaphysics
I certainly didn't. That looks and sounds revolting. And then adding macaroni to that disgusting medley? WTF? By 'everything' I meant everything that a normal hamburger should have in it. A combination of healthy foods that complement each other and foster a good palate. There are just certain standards that should be adhered to and for good reason. No wonder Americans are so fat and unhealthy (with the rest of the stupid copy-cat planet catching up fast).promethean75 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 7:12 pm "I used to make my children the most amazing hamburgers with everything in them"

It's just as easy to type 'was' as 'wuz'. One of them makes you a fuckwit.promethean75 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 10:51 pm "That looks and sounds revolting."
