Not learning?
But I think this forum does serve a useful purpose: it's supposed to, anyway. And that's to deal with philosophical questions.
Well there's nothing preventing folks from doing that, and they can always ignore the abuse.[/quote]
They can, and should...but they often don't. AJ's a good example...you really wound him up and got him going. It's human nature to defend oneself, when attacked, even when one doesn't think the attack is warranted. That's what keeps the trolls in business.

But it's a petty business, really...don't you wonder if it doesn't signal a smallness, on their part? Is it that maybe they just can't "play" with the higher level concepts? (I know you can...I've seen you do it, periodically. But then, you're more a wag than a troll, and I get why you enjoy a quick bit of verbal banter.) Not everybody who does the ad hominems here, though, is much of a wit. In fact, most of those who go ad hom are not, it would seem. They're just desperate, and out of ammo.

All I can say is that this place suits me exactly the way it is. I do realise that it might fall short of the requirements of others, though.

Not me. I find you entertaining...well, except when all that's going on is ad homs, but that's not most of the time. And you do have some insightful things to offer, despite your primarily sociological curiosities.

Are you going to change your behavior or continue as you have?

Oh he’s a master at that. He got so far under my skin I lost track of who is who!

It is humbling when you realize to your utter dismay that you are someone’s marionette. 😢

I want to turn pretension, arrogance, pompousness and bullying into a fine art. Cruelty, abuse, sadism — I promise to weave these in as I am able. I only ask that you assholes will show some consideration and help me improve.

Don't do anything on my account, I can work with whatever I'm presented with.

That would be the insight that IC mentions.

Yes. You are correct. I'm looking for a philosophy forum and I'm not finding it here.

I don't expect to stay much longer.

Just don't play. When they go ad hom, don't go there. And don't go there on your own. Just stick to the issues.

If you look at it that way, it's really easy.

How many times is a person going to called a Nazi or insulted in some other way and just keep on point?

That will wear anybody down.

No matter what they do or don't do, I will always opt to fly into a blind rage. For example, I'd have fed you to the lions months back! I have zero restraint.

Whatever facet of Christianity is being shown in the last few pages, it certainly is interesting.
Keep up the good work everyone.
