I knew it! I knew he was Satyr!!Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 3:28 pm Now the ignorant man shows himself a willful fool.
The termite-idiot mistakes the sort of recommendations I make as deriving from my person and as contrived personally, as if this has to do with my personal will or intentionality.
This attitude is quintessentially that of the rebellious mass-man. A man who is actually a child.
Now all of us know it!!!
Although I must admit that he has managed to remain quite constrained here.

Re: Christianity
Is this the thread where people with absolutely no personal experience of interactions with God and most of them being atheists, get to blab on and on about books they have read...about God!?

Yes, among other self-aggrandizements and 'protest too much'-isms of the closeted and utterly soul-frightened theists.attofishpi wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 1:02 am Is this the thread where people with absolutely no personal experience of interactions with God and most of them being atheists, get to blab on and on about books they have read...about God!?

Just out of curiosity, does he know you're him?

Will you consider me skeptical and impetuous if I declare that you will not be able to describe a new metaphysical posture? Why? Because you seem invested in advanced descriptions of physical processes, relationships and events, and metaphysics for you is a domain of phantasy & projection.
...concluding line from Goethe's Faust."DAS EWIG WEIBLICHE ZIEHT UNS HINAN."
Consider metaphysics the feminine aspect of physics which leverages the latter into a world of its own vast inevitable projections, that is, into a domain functional for a species knowing that truth is that which guides it without any universal applicability otherwise encountered. Truth becomes indigenous within the domain of metaphysics at least temporarily; as such, it can never be absolute in any sense.
Projections have consequences indispensable for continuation delineating it through symbology which metaphysics is best able to employ converting the secular into the sacred.
Have I lost you once again?

Yes, pretty hard to speak of many years of interaction with the divine and a sage without being labelled 'self-aggrandising' (among a plethora of other things)henry quirk wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 1:42 amYes, among other self-aggrandizements and 'protest too much'-isms of the closeted and utterly soul-frightened theists.attofishpi wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 1:02 am Is this the thread where people with absolutely no personal experience of interactions with God and most of them being atheists, get to blab on and on about books they have read...about God!?

This is an Internet forum where philosophy and philosophical musing goes on. That is by definition different from a confessional faith-exchange forum where — and this would be essential — people reveal some of the most intimate information about the most intimate subjects that are possible to discuss. For this reason, in my view, you tread over frontiers and boundaries that should be maintained. You go way too far in self-revelation — again in my opinion. (But do what you want or desire to, I just share my perspective).attofishpi wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 1:02 amIs this the thread where people with absolutely no personal experience of interactions with God and most of them being atheists, get to blab on and on about books they have read...about God!?
Myself, I have objective interest in what is going on in our culture and our world. I speak about “spiritual orientation” from a distance. That is my predilection. My own spiritual life is not a topic of my conversation and it will never be. This is an Internet forum and it is not a place for the public sharing of extremely personal content.
It is just as inappropriate for me (or anyone) to comment (meaning apply assessments) to your extremely personal revelations of subjective experience as it is for you to put it out there. This is why I decline to comment.
The things I can talk about have to do with larger, more general cultural and social concerns. That is what I focus on. Those are “appropriate” topics in a philosophical environment.

The added commas help I think.
Months back I gleaned what your position is. Here you merely repeat it. And you have soundly avoided my challenge (I predicted you would).
As always (and for everyone) have it your way.

Sure, but do you believe in God? Will you expose that much of yourself?Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 3:27 amThis is an Internet forum where philosophy and philosophical musing goes on. If you do have belief in God's existence, do you believe it (God) had any 'hand' in providing any or all of the content of the bible?

Re: Christianity
That I doubt. He seems to have labeled you something of a lunatic. I don’t share his assessment. You are, according to me, uniambiguously shtuck.
