Hardly. What I am suggesting is that you make an informed choice. Then choose the better option as indicated by the facts.
We've made the choice, and any changes to the law on private gun ownership are only likely to become more restrictive. We don't need to own guns, and I don't think most of us want to own them.
That means you actually have to inform yourself about the alternative option. Even, and perhaps especially, if it gravely offends your prejudices.
It certainly offends my pejudices about having offensive weapons all over the place.
Besides, why would we think of an alternative option when our current one is what we prefer, and the alternative would not deliver anything that we want?

I know about guns from very the onset of my early childhood, around the age of 4/5 actually. My brothers had toy guns, we used to watch films on tv of people shooting each other. We'd imitate them, play cowboys and indians, cops and robbers. I decided there and then, when I was a wee nipper, that I was never going to befriend a gun, ever.
Does that compute with you?

I have all the knowledge I need about guns, why because I know what they are capable of doing, and I don't like them.

It's a fact, that I do not personally like guns.
And I do not need your opinion on my opinion to meet with your approval as to whether or not my opinion is of ignorance, I will make up my own mind about what I feel about guns, and personally I am not ignorant of the fact that is my own self grown opinion..
