in thinking about philosophy like mine....

Post by Peter Kropotkin »

as I dislike writing on days I work, today I make an
exception...

I was wondering about my own thinking in regards to how I
philosophize... I write about the bottom line aspect of philosophy,
which means the aspect of philosophy that discusses reason,
faith, emotionalism, logic, hope, rationalism.....
this is the foundation of my philosophy... and I build
my philosophy on what is logically, rational, reason,
emotionally, and even what I was raised on... the
aspect I refer to as my indoctrinations and education of my
childhood.... philosophy is comparing, contrasting itself to
something else....my bottom line in philosophy is
a comparison to something else... I often use/attack conservatives...
I have no shame or problem with that... they are wrong about a
great many things... and I compare/contrast my beliefs and thoughts,
within a rational exploration of conservative's beliefs and thoughts...

I have seen many around here make a statement, there is a god.....
and that statement just sits there because it isn't attached to anything...
one must compared or contrasted to what, the statement, there is a god.....
without something to compare or contrast to the statement,
there is a god, it is an empty statement....

if I say, I believe in X, Y, Z... I still need to compare X to something
Y to something, Z to something... for it to make any sense...\
so, I say, that government that is limited, like conservatives want,
is to destroy our government and our society/state....
and why is that? because without government we exist,
within Hobbes "state of nature" which is the state where
everyone is a war with everyone else... there is no security,
no safety, no possibility of becoming who you are because
one is too busy living like an animal to become animal/human and
onto becoming human, fully human.... this ''state of nature"
is to be avoided at all costs because it is the a ''way of living"
that has no possibilities within it because all one has in a ''state of nature"
as a goal is simple survival.. nothing more...

but were I to say, we must avoid Hobbes "state of nature"
without explaining why, it becomes an empty statement....
it isn't contrasted or compared to anything.... and thus is empty....

to say, man must be equal, we must compare and contrast what
a human being is equal to what and what is this equality for...

I often read in certain threads, Kropotkin is wrong... but to make
that sentence make sense, Kropotkin has to be wrong in comparison
or in contrasting to something, someone else...Ok, I am wrong,
but comparing or contrasting my thought to what?

but what is wrong exactly when I write, conservatives are clueless...
and I think they are... and so, I compare/contrast them to
my own thinking or perhaps to Nietzsche writings...
the bottom line of philosophy is this idea of comparing or
contrasting various philosophies with or to some set idea or
to another philosopher or to itself... we can compare/contrasts
ideas to themselves...

I have my own ideas about what is or isn't right in the world....
but those idea's are not founded on random ideology or
childhood indoctrinations/education... I try to base those ideas
on comparing or contrasting other ideas...I have my foundational
idea's.. and I compare and contrast other ideas to my own
foundational ideas.... and what is your methodology for philosophy?

Yes, don't bother actually responding to points made where people disagreed with you on something, perhaps about conservatism. Just make a vague objection to a vague generalization that they disagreed somehow and then repeat your position.

Completely ignoring people would have more integrity.

This faux non-responding responding has less.

I'm afraid I have to agree, Peter. Your post is rambling, incoherent, and lacks focus.

On the other hand, if you are really an AI program and not a natural person (as the lawyers would say), I hope our feedback is useful.

K: actually, all of my post are variations on a theme.... or two....
you say my post seem to be "rambling, incoherent and lack focus"
but that is your perception of my posts... in fact, they are
quite coherent and quite focused.... and if you understood
my overarching theme, you would think so too....
variations of a theme...

but hay, it's not my job to make you understand, all I can do is
lead you to the water, I can't make you drink....
