Note: I didn't say "
disposable" though they partially overlap in meaning.
The terms dispensable and superfluous are context dependent. For example, it's true that the earth within the solar system is dispensable; the solar system within the galaxy also, and by extension, the galaxy within the universe. Why dispensable? Because nothing in the universe depends on any of it being there. To consequently render them superfluous or disposable simply because they're dispensable in the manner described would be one hell of an oxymoron...a non-sequitur of the highest order.
