Re: Christianity
He didn't stop at 30,000 either. CNN now reports it's over 34,000 dead. For all of those praying that God would stop at 25,000 dead in Turkey and Syria...nope, He didn't.
So, let's suppose it has nothing to do with the fact that those dying are not Christians. Instead, let's all agree to pray together that He stops it before it reaches 35,000.
And how about during halftime at the Super Bowl tonight. You know He'll be tuned in to that, right?
Later...

You seem to have conceded that your god is an evil tyrant. You are so devoted to him that you even offer to suffer the pain he craves to cause and enjoy watching. What a complete and total surrender to insanity.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 3:52 amDear God. Please stop the suffering and hurt. Wake up. The world sucks. And either there is a god or there isn't. You do the math.

It half sucks. But it is also half wonderful.Wake up. The world sucks. And either there is a god or there isn't. You do the math.
If it is sucky that does not, necessarily, negate the possibility of some sort of divinity as the origin of all.

30,000 + people are dead from an Earthquake. Tragedy of some kind could easily happen to almost any of us. That's a lot of carnage and broken hearted loved ones left behind. Most of the normal healthy ones will probably recover, however, some may carry scars or traumas for the rest of their lives.Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 5:40 pmIt half sucks. Taking Issue with The God Issue
Raymond Tallis argues against theist arguments in PN 99
Next up: what you have access to with Raymond Tallis.
And however annoyed atheists might become with the faithful sucking on their celestial pacifiers, that never changes. Not only that but I myself am wretched enough to cling to at least a smidgen of hope that someone here might bring me back into the fold myself.
On the other hand, when it comes to God and religion, there's what can be pinned down clearly and there's what has never been. It's just that, as always, it is more incumbent upon those who claim the existence of God to demonstrate that than for the atheists to demonstrate that He doesn't exist.
Or so that clearly seems to be the case for me.
Raymond Tallis argues against theist arguments in PN 99
With God you have access to Commandments. With God you have access to immortality. With God you have access to salvation. An atheist’s work is never done. Just when you think that God has been buried in an unmarked grave, lo and behold, there He is back again, stalking the surface of the earth, looking for infidels to annoy.

I reacted to the Craig article myself above. IC recommended that I read it as the next best thing to the Bible and those videos in demonstrating that a God, the God, his God does exist. I'll explore the points that Chappel makes down the road. And so it was the other month, in this very journal, when two accomplished polemicists attempted to bring God back from the dead. In Philosophy Now 99: The God Issue, William Lane Craig mobilised arguments and Timothy Chappell appealed to personal experiences to persuade us to fall on our atheistic knees and admit that we were wrong. Needless to say, your columnist demurred. So I hope the Editor will permit a little civil war within Philosophy Now for the sake of truth. (I have singled out Craig and Chappell for their merits rather than their deficiencies, as it is difficult to imagine how their cases could have been set out more clearly.)

However, the actual fact is that it only happens to a very few. Most people enjoy the untold luxury of fully living lives of quiet desperation . . .30,000 + people are dead from an Earthquake. Tragedy of some kind could easily happen to almost any of us. That's a lot of carnage and broken hearted loved ones left behind. Is there no Walmart nearby?
What you object to is mortality and that chance operates in this unstable realm, a shaky platform.
It’s been bad luck for you that your only apparent informant in respect to spiritual, metaphysical and religious questions has been that wicked man, Immanuel.
You’ve rejected his vile teaching and, apparently simultaneously, tossed the bathwater out with the Baby Jesus.

That is true. Re: Christianity
Surely you've seen the evidence:
Here's a new one:
Even when you are trying to show that your buttons haven't been pushed, it's quite clear they have. Which brings us back to your whiney little pissant P.S:
According to my criteria for control, which I grant may differ from yours, I'm doing just fine.

So stupid can't even escape its own confirmation bias loop.
Mistakes cherry-picking for "evidence". Ignores counter-evidence.
Lacks falsification criterion so his 'hypothesis" is not even wrong.
Science is the cure to philosophy, my dear retard.
