Only a Tortured Soul would say that God Exists

Is there a God? If so, what is She like?

Only a Tortured Soul would say that God Exists

Post by commonsense »

Is it possible that any soul can deny that God exists?

A soul at peace with itself can say that since it is at peace, God is unnecessary. Necessary things exist for everyone to experience, but unnecessary things only exist for those who want them to.

Since God is unnecessary for a soul to be at peace, God only exists for tortured souls that want Him to.

Even tortured souls can deny that God exists, because they can believe that they wouldn’t be tortured so if God exists. It’s either that or it turns out that God is very mean.

Any soul can deny that God exists.

Only a tortured soul can say that God exists.

Of course, only the soul can make God exist.

The existence of God requires the soul.

And the reason why it does that can only be evil.
The soul brings God into existence because of evil.

However God does not exist.
And what doesn't exist is nothing...

Therefore the soul's desire cannot be fulfilled.
If not by questioning existence itself, which consists in separation.

Indeed God and the soul are One.

Couldn't we substitute intimacy,
the health care system,
friendship,
sports
and a whole lot of other things that most people do think exist for 'God' in the above argument.

And doctors and nurses, friends and colleagues, and sports writers and their magazines…

A tortured soul can hope that God exists.

After the hope there is knowing, and knowing ends suffering.
Knowing also ends choosing.
When you know, there is no choice to be made.

Ignorance isn't bliss.
Knowing is bliss.

So, doctors, nurses, friends, colleagues, sports writers and their magazines only exist for tortured people? I can sort of go along with the first two examples in the list.....

No. Í was only thinking that you could just as well substitute the color green.

It makes no sense to make either your substitution or mine.

Why? or was yours not meant as a deduction of some kind? In fact, I had a bit of trouble getting a sense of it. It even seemed to change direction.

I was being sarcastic when I listed doctors et cetera. The color green is as equally ridiculous as the idea that doctors exist only for sick people.

How can we know that what we hope is true?
Hope is a wish, a wish for something in the future.

We often associate bliss with ignorance. We say that someone is blissfully unaware.

Knowledge can bring peace with it, but also it can bring anxiety. Knowing that there’s a murderer in your bedroom isn’t likely to produce calm.

nuh uh becuz it depends on what kind of god and believers you're talking about. some religious people throughout history have felt anything but 'tortured' and were healthy and robust people who viewed there relationship to god(s) as a kind of alliance or symmachia rather than as inferior subjects born into sin and in need of salvation as the jews and christians believe.

here's a classification scheme to general the pathos of some major religions.

norse, greek, roman, vedic, shinto and hindu are masculine animisms/polytheisms. buddhism, jainism, and confucianism are feminine atheisms. islam is masculine monotheism while judaism/Christianity is feminine monotheism.

only the last is characterized by a pathological suffering and need of redemption.
