We were told to get vaccinated to 'protect the vulnerable'. How that works I have no idea. You have a vaccine to prevent YOURSELF from getting a disease. That's what vaccines are for.
If you reduce your own chances of getting it, you reduce the chances that you'll pass it on. Some things really are just obvious, to be honest.
But it doesn't stop anyone from getting it. They never even claimed that it did.
It reduces the risk of getting it, and therefore of passing it on.
Are anti-vaxxers incapable of thinking in any other terms than all or nothing?

It has nothing to do with being 'anti vax'. I'm not an 'anti vaxxer'. It's about facts. OBVIOUSLY it doesn't stop you from catching it, seeing as pretty much the entire population has had it, vaccinated or not. FACT!

It's also a fact that most of them have had it in very mild form. Why's that, do you think?

Even before the vaccine a lot of people had very mild or even no symptoms. Fact. Omicron is also a milder variant. There's no way of knowing one way or another. How could anyone know what it 'might' have been like if they hadn't had the vaccine? I've known unvaccinated people who got it very mildly, and vaccinated people who got pretty sick with it. This is all hindsight anyway. All the fuss seems a bit silly now, to be honest, but at the time everyone was worried. That's the nature of hindsight.

The pandemic continued in Europe after the UK. Their vaccine rollout was later, too.

I don't even bother reading about it any more. I got my jabs, but I'm certainly not getting a fourth. The 'vulnerable' can look after themselves.

Fortunately, society is not solely made up of people with that attitude.
