In her entire 70 years as Queen of England\u2026 Elizabeth II only saw Kentucky beat the Florida Gators ten times. \n\nRIP, Queen. You would\u2019ve loved this matchup Saturday

I think this is the reaction all rational people should have, but with nuances from their backgrounds and locations.....
But for the more creative, the proper reaction is something like this...

Just been trying to watch the queen documentary 'unseen footage something or other' and can't because her voice is so awful. She always had a dreadful voice. Really high pitched and insincere sounding. She was certainly no actress or narrator material.
I remember as a child being somewhere for xmas lunch and couldn't quite believe it when everyone was order to stand up for the queen's speech on TV, as if she could see us I thought it must be a joke. That kind of sycophancy is truly nauseating and disturbing. Humans are ridiculous, especially 'adult' humans. Children are far more sensible.

I wanted to hear someone shout 'The Queen is dead, long live the King'. Do they still do that? Would they do it right after the event?

Damn i wish they woulda named the song. it was the very first one after homeboy with the glasses talked a little bit. i felt like i wuz being transformed into light, bro. my god how does the human voice produce such beauty, such grace?
...could you possibly be hearing this, probably the most famous a cappella music written?

You know what else? If you're a guy and you wear a hat into a church, you're supposed to take off the hat! And there doesn't even have to be a queen on a screen. Can you imagine? It's just so arbitrary and suck up. It's practically debilitating.
Which only goes to prove, if folks don't have any real problems, they'll make something up.

That's a bit different from standing up in someone's living foom in front of a TV screen. That's just f****** insane. As a young child we were supposed to stand up for god save the queen before the film started when you went to the pictures (cinema). At the age of four I thought that was really silly and bizarre. Children are so much more intelligent than idiot adults.
So go fuck yourself. I wasn't addressing you.

Well, as an adult I see it as much more reasonable than a child of four would. As an adult, we can consider it as a mark of respect, and when getting children to do such actions, that they understand eventually Y.
I love chivalry...and now am looking very much forward to much vitriol from across the firmament.

What the fuck does 'respect' have to do with it? The queen can see us through the TV? And frankly I don't have any 'respect' for the institution of monarchy or her badly read and ridiculous xmas messages. It's all bullshit. I never react well when someone orders me to 'respect' somethng--it's invariably a moron who doesn't have a clue what the word even means.

Well, if you don't respect the Monarchy and everything the British Empire has done for the likes of your clan, then you wouldn't understand what 'respect' has to do with it!!
I was just finely chopping an onion after reading the above, I was thinking of your face while chopping hard into it...and I came to tears Veg, tears!!
I suppose you are one of those that don't respect the life of Christ either, but come around to Chrismas day, and it's all presents for the kiddies and Granny, and not even thanking the British Empire that you have electricity and a TV, and the location - where because of the timing you DONT have to watch the Queen give her CHRIST_MAS speech!!!
The irony and the hypocrisy of YOUR SORT totally ridiculous!!!

Are you off your meds or something? Perhaps you shouldn't mix them with alcohol...
ps. I didn't know the British royals invented electricity and TV. So they aren't as thick as they look then...

Ad hominem.
If I ever did take the meds the short of sight atheist shrinks threw my way, I am certain I'd be as stupid as you!!
veg u gotta understand that Liz wuz hit with that obligation like all of a sudden when she wuz young. her entire existence after becoming queen wuz like a customary role play that she wuz constantly groomed for by her majesty's handlers. poor kid didn't know what wuz going on and wuz just tryna do her job.
