No, I'm asking why you hate Trump with such irrational fervour.commonsense wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 6:52 pm I get it, IC. You’re saying that things didn’t happen and I shouldn’t be bothered by things that did happen. You’re also saying I’m a hypocrite for not hating Biden.
And I'm not calling you a hypocrite. At the same time, I cannot help but observe the fact that you don't have any hatred for other politicians who have verifiably done much worse, and are currently making much worse blunders. And that convinces me the answer can't possibly be what you want me to suppose it to be -- namely, that Trump himself is such a wicked rascal that he merits such exclusive ire, or that none of the others matter.
I also have to ask why all your ideas simply repeat the Democrat talking points....even when, as in the case of Charlottesville or Russia, the Democrat lies have been fully exposed and debunked already. That's very surprising to me, if the explanation isn't "I simply believe everything the Dems tell me."
Earlier, you made much of the fact that I had not heard the recording of Trump allegedly saying something crude. You wanted me to believe it was some kind of duty of mine to have located it, even if I didn't know it existed. But I sent you the Tara Reade interview, and you never made a single remark on it. Given how clear and awful it is, and supposing you to be a moral person, I have to think you maybe never even watched it. So I marvel that the sense of guilt you worked so hard to stoke up in me is so totally absent from your own conduct, and that you so credulously absorb this Trump hatred we've been talking about.
I still want a reasonable explanation for TDS. By your own admission, you have an "emotional" and plausibly "irrational" hatred for Trump. The facts are clearly not what's making you feel that hatred, since the facts don't make you hate Biden. You save all your venom for Trump, apparently.
So I want to know what is causing the hatred.
Do you know? Do you know what's making, for you, Trump so much worse even than his far more vile rivals?

No one is irrational to criticize Trump. And it is a childish and hateful comment to imply that.
And if you do not know why Trump is so obviously and justifiably the target of criticism then I suggest that you have not been paying attention.

I'll grant that. All people come in for some criticism, of course. But let's say Trump is extraordinarily deserving of it. Let's say, even, he deserves more than most mortals. Let's start there.
But is one rational if one criticizes Trump, but in every bad metric, there are people immeasurably worse, and you show no concern about them at all?
If that happens, it needs explaining. Because clearly, whatever the person is telling you is motivating them is really not.

But is one rational if one criticizes Trump, but in every bad metric, there are people immeasurably worse, and you show no concern about them at all?Like, if you're appalled by Trump for joking about grabbing crotches of compliant women, but not at all concerned at somebody else having actually physically cornered and penetrated an unwilling woman, or another using his office to embark on a career of serially raping women, I have to call into question your concern for female dignity...since a man's crass, sexist words are your whole definition of great evil, and actually rapes comparatively mean nothing to you.
If that happens, it needs explaining. Because clearly, whatever the person is telling you is motivating them is really not.
Trump was the POTUS. When people gain a position of power they set the example and the tone of society.
We can all criticize Jeff Dahmer until we are blue in the face, but that is not where the problem lies.
We have an elected official to the highest office in the land who has no respect for truth, decency or respect for other humans. He is narcissistic and dangerous. He is probably responsible for more deaths that any serial killer and there is a real danger that he might return to run again.
His time in office encouraged a rise in bigotry that is far more dangerous than any single rapist.

Why hate Trump, but have no concern about rivals who do everything worse?
Okay, but clearly, Biden is one of those "worse" people. And whereas Trump is only an ex-president, Biden's the president RIGHT NOW.Trump was the POTUS. When people gain a position of power they set the example and the tone of society.
So again, you're not teliing the truth. If you cared about women, you'd be at least AS against Biden and Clinton as against Trump; and very plausibly, much more against the former than the latter. Any moral person has to see that.
But you're not. You don't worry about Clinton, the other ex-president, and you have no concern about Biden, the man in office right now. So it isn't the veniality or lustfulness of Trump that's motivating you. That much, we know for sure.
So what is?

I never doubted anything about Tara Reid. I never so much as complained about her being alleged to me.
I don’t hate Trump with the fervor you repeatedly impute to me.
Hate is an emotion. All emotions are a matter of feeling, not of thinking. All emotions are without rational reasoning.
You seem to be arguing against someone other than me, or else your view of my statements is distorted.

I also note that you're making mountains out of molehills...like "he looks to long at the sun," or "his wife might not have taken his hand on a given occasion," and then making something even smaller than molehills out of Biden's digital rape, Biden's racist comments, or Biden's ginning up of public hatred -- all of which you have actual video evidence for. And we have the Biden laptop, as well, for proof that Biden's corrupt and enabling a coke fiend son, and doing some monkey business in Ukraine. We have his total failure at the wall, his embarassing debacle in Afghanistan, his inability to speak coherenty or even stay upright on a bike...Yet you save every negative epithet for Trump?

I simply point out that you have (manifestly) not been similarly outraged to the way you've been allegedly outraged about Trump. That's something anybody can go back over your responses and see.
You didn't even mention Tara Reade. Nor have you applied to Clinton or Biden the unsavoury epithets you used on Trump to a serial rapist who preceded and succeeded him in the office, and who have obviously done much worse than Trump.
I want to know why. That is all. It's a very reasonable question.

Evasion.
There's not even a "strawman" possible there. You don't know what the "strawman" fallacy is, obviously.
I gave you the chance to answer honestly, as well as a chance to look at yourself clearly, for once. But I guess I should have known you wouldn't.
Well, happy trails, then.

I think there are probably more ELF-men than folks realize. This recent link explains what an ELF is, and reasons for the ELF’s stunted political awareness.
