Sure, some women. But who here doubts which gender is more preoccupied with the Love Boat. Or, perhaps, the Lust Boat? Being philosophers doesn't change that. And most members here are men. They come to a thread like this and, again, some pictures attract them more than others. Yeah, it can work the other way around but just go back to ILP and note how often it doesn't.

But again my reaction is entirely personal. And I'm the first to admit that at times I scarcely understand myself why I react to things like this as I do.The complexities that others might see in me pales next to the complexities I have to actually live with myself.

So, to be serious for a moment. Mansplaining isn’t when a man explains something, nor if a man explains something for someone, nor even necessarily if a man passionately over explains or interjects. (There are people that think this, but they are silly).

Mansplaining is specifically the phenomenon where men overexplain to women specifically because of an assumption of lower competency because they are women. It’s not something that can be identified individually usually because you never know what an individual’s reasons are for overexplaining (and sometimes it is simply the case that the man in question does know more about a subject and, this is key, knows this fact).

It is a real phenomenon but not typically something an individual can be accused of.

For instance in places where I game or post anonymously, I do notice the difference.

If I may jump in and provide what Promethean seems to be missing (or actually the fact of what he has) - is that he has a middle stump, that lesbians tend to keep away from, tis I think, what makes them lesbians (sorry to use a cricket analogy), so although most of what he says makes total sense to us heteromen, the key factor of what makes a lesbian a "lesbian", totally makes a balls up of his entire premise.
