Re: _______________________________________________
one of the pillars of the science of serial killers is that cliche that their psychopathy is best demonstrated in their ability to talk freely and comfortably with other people. that 'mask of sanity' bit. the psychopath is always a cunning, charismatic person who acts normal to exploit your trust, etc.
okay now consider the context in Ted's recapture interview above. is he displaying those psychopathic characteristics in this instance. i say no. Listen to how banal the convo is. See u think that's orchestrated... that Ted's tryna be Hannibal lecter.
at this time, ted knows that the interviewer knows that the evidence in the Colorado case is circumstantial, and that he's claiming (and asking for a retrial) that he's not guilty in the daronch case back in utah. this naturally puts ted at ease because he doesn't feel as if he's subject to any substantial suspicion from the guy. ted knows he did it, but he knows the guy doesn't know he did it. this is why Ted's speech and manner here are natural and not contrived, not the psychopath pretending to be and speak normally.
now if he were busted and convicted of something and there wuz no doubt about it, to speak that way, that comfortably, that humanly, would be the psychopath at work. you simply couldn't be like 'hey jim how ya doin?!' to a dude you knew knew you killed a bunch of people. a normal person wouldn't be able to be that comfortable talking to someone who knew they killed people. you see this demeanor no longer after the confessions tho. he knows he's damned and couldn't ever again expect another person to think anything about him but horror and pity. this is one reason why Ted wasn't a psychopath. i mean not in the hollywood sense of the DSM.
the thing about the cliche that the killer maintains his innocence, ergo, he's a psychopath, is flawed in the simplest way. it is not a psychopathic behavior to lie about your innocence if there's still a chance that you be aquitted. we would all do that. the psychopathic part comes only once the serial killer is guilty beyond any doubt, condemned by everyone, but continues to be able to completely ignore the awkwardness of the context and act and talk to another human being like he wuz having coffee with em. now that would be a little crazy. or the only exception is that the serial killer has repented, accepts that nobody would ever want him over for dinner, and carries himself in conversation with the modesty and humility of the condemned.

Re: _______________________________________________
Shaefer denied to his death that he murdered anyone. and of serial killer trivia, Shaefer's is one of the most intriguing.
circumstances: convicted of two murders, suspected of 30+ more based on very strong circumstantial evidence. possessions of women (jewelry) either missing or deceased were found when they searched his property. this is the evidence that makes him suspect.
he was also busted for kidnapping two girls, tying them to a tree with a noose and having them balance on a root or hang if they slip. he ends up claiming to have been 'teaching them a lesson about the dangers of hitch hiking'. at the time he was a martin county deputy, see.
but it gets better. he's written a short book of very graphic sado-sexual content in which murders that he's thought to have committed are described in detail in the book.
but wait, there's more. and this is Shaefer's spade. during the arrest and trial of the Place and Jessup murders, Shaefer's wife was having an affair with the main state prosecutor on the case.
okay. now I think he maintained his innocence as a kind of final touch to his legacy. he likes the sophisticated nature of his situation, knows it's relatively intriguing enough to cast minor doubt on his guilt... but he knows we know he's guilty of several more if not the 30+ he's accused of. so he's playing a double here; he wants us to know he's a serial killer, but enjoy the show as he pretends only to be a sado-sexual fiction writer who's been framed by a man who's having an affair with his wife.
another fact is that none of the alleged property of these suspected victims had ever been presented to Shaefer or his lawyers. is it even real, or staged by that cheatin' ass bitch's boyfriend the prosecutor?
see what i mean? the intrigue bro. like what if he didn't kill anyone and the content in killer fiction matching the crimes is just coincidence?
Shaefer's excuses were lame tho. he'd think of himself as distributing justice against the whores of the world, etc. but wait... you can't be a 'whore' at seventeen year old, Gerard. you're too young to know what your doing and certainly aren't able to commit a travesty of biblical proportions by making out under the bleachers one night with the quarterback.
it was his frickin catholic upbringing that planted the seed for that excuse.

The proper attitude is not that I lost $10 today, but that I only lost $10 today. Never let the market smell your fear because it'll eat you if it does.
I need to go through this a few times before I put more money in. Get'a feel for how this works.
This is all happening because the Feds are raising interest rates to slow this capitalist inflation mess that all started when the capitalist kung-flu hit us and the capitalist Putin invaded Ukraine.

What about these, fish? Wouldja eat these?
please note how each individual chip is individually prepared and alloted its own equal proportion of chicken, cheese, jalapeno and sauce, thus eliminating the otherwise quasi-chaotic process of negotiating a plate of nachos to dip and prepare each chip.
I also ask you to please consider how the chips at the bottom of a traditionally presented plate of nachos are isolated from the toppings, which the more accessible chips on the top get in excess, due to their proximity and more fortunate position on the plate.
and finally, far fewer napkins were used while consuming this plate due to the elimination of the scooping technique, which we are forced to do with a traditional plate of nachos. the chips are also thicker, and being baked, retain their structural integerity and rigidity long after being moistened by the toppings. This prevents the chip from collapsing due to the weight of the toppings when it is picked up.

and so shall the child be born.
look on the bright side tho. that child could never possibly suffer a skull fracture during its lifetime. So that's one medical misfortune the child and the family don't ever need to worry about.

You eat that revoltingness? Do you sprinkle sugar on it to make it even more 'classy'? Americans are depraved.

Of course I don't eat that shit you idiot. I go into restaurants, buy nacho entrees, take pictures of them, then post the pictures and talk about the nachos in posts at philosophy forums.
Do I eat it. Wtf kind of question is that?

It could have been some random photo you found on unsocial media of 'world's most revolting restaurant dishes' or some such.

Hmm, since I only read the first sentence I thought they were nachos with fish, along with a typically poor use of punctuation. Fish nachos. Do even Americans stoop that low?promethean75 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 12:11 am What about these, fish? Wouldja eat these?

I was in Las Vegas years ago, I awoke extremely hung-over and needed to eat fish and chips with loads of malt vinegar. I walked for hours and did not find one single venue that sold such hangover medicine.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 12:49 am Hmm, since I only read the first sentence I thought they were nachos with fish, along with a typically poor use of punctuation. Weird the way they always rave on about how 'handsome' and 'charming' Ted Bundy was. His eyes are too close together. His face is just 'off'. He comes across as a phony who's trying too hard. Most people are the worst judges of character. Either that or they have been brought up with the bs that you should never 'judge a book by its cover' and that you should 'accept and 'embrace' everyone' no matter how repellent you find them.promethean75 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 8:32 pm one of the pillars of the science of serial killers is that cliche that their psychopathy is best demonstrated in their ability to talk freely and comfortably with other people. that 'mask of sanity' bit. the psychopath is always a cunning, charismatic person who acts normal to exploit your trust, etc.

Re: _______________________________________________
Americans seem very vain. They always have to have perfect and extremely white teeth..just to read the news.
Jim Jefferies screwed his teeth up, I think because he was trying to become an actor. He had such a devious grin that suited him, especially with his humour..now look at him, he looks like every other USAdian ponce. He's lost his character, I think he should go back to the dentist and get his front teeth skewed again, or let me punch him.

Re: _______________________________________________
People ruin their looks with those silly caps. Apparently they file down the original teeth so you are stuck with 'horse teeth' forever. What's wrong with a bit of crookedness anyway? When American actors have normal teeth they get made fun of because they haven't had them 'done' to look perfect and unnatural. English actors like to keep their looks natural for their profession. It's very distracting when an actor is supposed to be living in the wild west or a mediaeval village and they have blazing white horse teeth and you can tell they've had facelifts, fillers, botox etc. etc..
