Ownin' a shotgun makes me a people hater: not seein' the clear line of reasonin' that took you from one to the other. Care to enlighten me, DAM?

The obvious reasoning is that people are a constant threat to you and you need to defend yourself.

Maybe you don't hate them.

Maybe you don't trust them.

Maybe you're afraid of them.

U R 1 irrational kunt

Stop attempting to dictate to others (including me, an intelligent Christian) what Christianity is U fuckwit.
This thread has established that those here do not know the purpose of Christianity. Rather some have documented what Christianity is not. Christianity doesn't glorify the expressions of negative emotions. It doesn't stick its nose up in the air calling others fuckwits.

if i snuck up on Henry's property and tried to steal a lawn chair, he'd probably run out onto the front porch in a bathrobe with his shotgun and shoot me. not because he cares about the lawn chair but because he needs and wants a reason to shoot a muthafucka.

You're a city dweller, yeah?

Me, in the country, I use my shotgun to hunt. Never actually shot a man with it. Did use it to defend myself in a break-in (didn't fire it: just pointed the business end at the uninvited visitors).

So, no, that reasonin' ain't obvious at all ('cept, mebbe, to a city dweller).

I'd only shoot you if you didn't leave, empty-handed, when I say get offa my lawn!

Like with the break-in: I wouldn't fire it, I'd just point it. You, bein' bright, I'm sure you'd get the message and leave. And the plus for you: I won't even call the cops. What would be the point? I keep my lawn chair; you keep your sorry keister: it's all good.

Shotgun, handgun, rifle, bazooka ... that's not the point.

You have weapons to defend yourself from other people and your prepared to use them. Which indicates that you have some issues of hate, trust, fear, etc when it comes to other people.

You'd kill a guy if he didn't get off your lawn?

Think about that.

you're supposed to fire a warning shot into the air as you shout 'get offa my lawn' like in the movies.

"And the plus for you: I won't even call the cops. What would be the point? I keep my lawn chair; you keep your sorry keister: it's all good."

lol you're like the old anarchist in the Slacker scene who befriends the robber that broke into his house, and instead of criticizing the robber he becomes his tutor of sorts and invites him to stay for dinner, etc.

No, I have a shotgun to feed myself. I'd prefer I never have to use it for self-defense.

A rock salt load will mebbe knock you on your butt, will sting like hell, but probably won't kill you (depends on how close you are).

Lesson here: stay off private property (particularly when there's a sign up front that PRIVATE PROPERTY: NO TRESPASSING).

Americans love their movies.

Remember the westerns where the good guy shoots the gun out of the bad guys hand instead of killing him?

The bad guy is not even hurt. In real life, a .44 or .45 slug would shatter the bones in his arm but not in the movies.

If you could even hit his arm/hand, of course.

Hey that kinda stuff ain't impossible. I've seen TV shows on discovery where these guys are shooting dimes out of.the air with their pistols in a quick draw hip level shot. Archers hitting single falling drops of watch with an arrow. Crazy shit man.

In RL you aim for the chest (center of mass).
