the abhorrence of historical preservation

Should you think about your duty, or about the consequences of your actions? Or should you concentrate on becoming a good person?

It's not sacred to me, but it is to someone, and they have every right to use it that way so long as they're caring for it,
And by what principle is this right granted to them, and how can it be guaranteed they will not abuse the right by not being caring?

Not trusting each other ensures something much worse than that. If there's people who want to do such a thing, that's a deeper problem that needs attention.

The public cannot be trusted to behave properly, so I am curious about what you consider worse than allowing them to ruin the physical remains of our history.
