Here's my honest response (again) to this question: I see the body as an organic vehicle that grows on its own without my particular consciousness. I, personally, do not have any memories or awareness from being in the womb as this body vehicle I inhabit was being formed. If my Mother had aborted the vehicle, there surely would have been another vehicle I could inhabit if I really wanted to incarnate, and I certainly wouldn't hold that decision against her or anyone! From my own experience, I do not believe that consciousness is tied to a body/vehicle.
