Corona, Controversies and Careers

Should you think about your duty, or about the consequences of your actions? Or should you concentrate on becoming a good person?

I think the vaccine should be mandatory too. It is not about your life only but the life of others that might depend on whether you take the vaccine or not.
I agree. Vaccination, and all methods to the end of artificially acquired immunity are a matter of public as well as personal health. The vaccine would be mandatory but for the difficulty posed by people like IC who are habitually non-compliant regarding public health .

You have no idea who's vaccinated, and who's not. You certainly don't know about me: I never said. Moreover, upon what are you basing your claim of my alleged "habitual non-compliance" to anything at all?

Are you accustomed to slandering people about whom you know nothing? That's kind of ugly, I must say.

In this case, you don't know what "public health" is. You don't know whether or not all the women who follow your advice won't be having thalidomide-like babies in the next couple of years.

You know nothing about any of this: and yet, you're talking. I guess that's your prerogative.

There are times when you should just do as you are told.

"Are told"? By whom?

You mean the same agency that told you that vaccines were safe...then not safe...then done in one...then done in two...then never done?

That would be the same agency that can't define the word "woman," I suppose.

Sometimes you should ask who's speaking, before you do what you "are told."

I mean scientists who have spent upwards of six years at graduate and then more at post-grad level studying immunology and then worked in the field of public health.

Well, even if they'd been 30 years in the field and a hundred in a university, there are still some things they could not do. One is to tell you what the effects of a vaccine will be, when it has only been invented a year or so ago, and has never been tested long-term, with the requisite experimental controls and protocols in place.

For that, their expertise gives them not much in the way of a special privilege. They're guessing too: which explains why they keep reversing themselves. You can see it: they're thrashing about, making all manner of mistakes.

People who are not making mistakes do not reverse themselves, right?

Bear in mind, they don’t test anything long term, not vaccines, not aspirin, not birth control or chemotherapy.

Scientists do longitudinal studies. I know because I have been a guinea pig for a longitudinal covid study for over a year and still ongoing.

But apparently, not enough "better" to know whether or not what they want to do will work...or give you a heart attack. So I can fully understand those who are hesitant.

Actually, they do. So I don't need to "bear that in mind."

We have very good data, for example, on the polio vaccine, and even better on aspirin. As for chemo, are you aware of how much those procedures have changed in, say, the last decade? So that one's a work in progress, but even now they admit they don't have it right.

So we're probably wise not to expect much of last week's alleged COVID cure.

Yes, they do. But medicines are brought to market without knowing what all the side effects are or knowing the long term effects.

My point is that if you trust the OTC and prescribed medications that you take, you’re being hypocritical to hold Covid-19 vaccines to higher standards.
