What a lovely life you must have.
Marriage and Family
Re: Marriage and Family
Yes, Mr. Can thinks that what he "knows" is the best of knowing. And the claim he made above, made me bust out laughing. According to him, sometimes, apparently, it's about us reaching out to God -- sometimes it's apparently about God reaching out to us -- all of this reaching back and forth like there's no other, more integrated, connection that Mr. Can considers. Rather, we've all got to make meaningless and unnecessary declarations based on the delusions we dream up... as if we're living in a world of supposedly good and bad stick-figures, that will ultimately go to good and bad places. It's like a child's game... a game of men... not of a god.Dontaskme wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 7:19 amJust making that claim is a sign of sure certainty - a knowledge that does not exist in nature, except within the hominid brain, exclusive to.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 1:36 am If we've got any hope of knowing God, it will only be as God reaches out to us.
Re: Marriage and Family
I see the view you are pointing out. That is definitely one way of looking at it. But I'm sure there are more views and realities. Clearly, there is a compelling and rewarding societal convenience thing that's part of the game/package. And, I wonder, do we need to be resistant to the game while we're here, or can we find benefit in playing along? I'm not a big fan of marriage, either (I did it once, long ago) -- it definitely isn't necessary for (nor a symbol of) love and sharing life. But I think I've become more accepting of the conditions of the game we're in... and playing along in the best ways I can. Awareness and love can get stronger from their own foundation of clarity, regardless of any games.

Well, she sees normal marriage as bondage, and the world as full of "slaves." Does that sound like Disneyland to you?vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 7:21 pmWhy wouldn't she?

She has a lot of wisdom. That's exactly how marriage originated. Fathers even had to pay someone to take their 'burden' of a daughter off their hands in the form of a dowry. It's nothing more than a contract. Love rarely had anything to do with it. Women in India are still murdered over dowries.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 7:40 pmWell, she sees normal marriage as bondage, and the world as full of "slaves." Mainly, weddings are just an expensive ego trip for women, and a chance to look awful in an unflattering and ridiculous confection of a dress (and after about 5 years they will have the opportunity to do the same thing all over again...)

Still doesn't sound like fun.
You asked why she would be having a bad life. I said it's because when you see the whole world as slaves, you're probably not happy. You clearly don't disagree with that, so I guess we're on the same page, at least on that one point.

How ironic, when it's you and your little caveman buddy who are always banging on about how you are living in 'slavery' to your govt. Who's 'happy' anyway? It's not a state anyone can permanently sustain, unless you are half-witted.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 8:17 pmvegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 7:47 pmShe has a lot of wisdom.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 7:40 pm

Petty little irrelevant non-comments like that don't help your case.
Define 'happy'.
