I agree. Sculptor, who has apparently known me for 20 years complains that I've never said a single thing in protest of these wars, not even a peep. Funny, I don't remember seeing him saying much about the war until just now. Of course, I haven't paid close attention to everything he's posted, nor do I know him, so at least I'll admit to not knowing his past stance.Lacewing wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 4:20 pmAren't you making this rather personal and taking it out on Americans who talk with you? Are YOU responsible for what your country or planet has done and are doing? Can we keep some appropriate perspective, please? Aren't your rage and venting your responsibility?Sculptor to Gary Childress wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 11:20 am ...It's a bit rich, you sitting in your onfy chair in the US whilst your country has been tearing the shit out of the near east since WW2.

Again, of absolutely no use to anyone who is currently being brutalized by the Taliban. You need to put your other agendas aside and think of those who are in danger right now.Sculptor wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 11:20 amThe Afghan people have been brutalised by Russia and the Western invaders, and have been under seige since 1980. What sort of people do you think that creates when all they have known is war?Gary Childress wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 4:21 amI would hope the Taliban will have some mercy toward their own people. I'm sorry but killing people like that is barbaric and wrong. If you really care about those people, then I suggest standing up to voice out against the Taliban's brutality. Excusing their behavior certainly doesn't accomplish anything worthwhile. You can worry about US atrocities when it makes sense to worry about them. Right now the people facing death are facing it from the Taliban.
So fuck you very much USA.

The Lives of Afghanis will return to normal within 12 months, as it was 20 years ago. The legacy of US rule will be the memory of suffering and the loss of thousands of people.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 6:25 pmAgain, of absolutely no use to anyone who is currently being brutalized by the Taliban. Nothing of lasting benefit will have happened.
So get off your American high horse and bow your head in shame.

Re: Hypocrisy
People are killing each other all over the planet. Are you suggesting a world war over this? How is that going to help anyone? Don't be so gullible. Why do you think there is so much publicity about this one country? No one attacks a country to 'save' its people.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 6:25 pmAgain, of absolutely no use to anyone who is currently being brutalized by the Taliban. How did you get from what I wrote to starting a world war????? I'd be fascinated to know the thought process on that one.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 7:45 pmPeople are killing each other all over the planet.
