In aesthetic critique, only the ineffable standards are the meaningful ones. Everything else is just categorizing.
"Ineffable standards" are the standards of philosophical idealism, very poor compared to the more systematized standards of the rationalist and materialist critique of art.

I find it a problematic situation, that citation is the ransom of no criticism; then again, intellectually, I empathise with the situation
