Re: Quote of the day
exactly right
a civilization is undergirded by the recognition of certain facts about man, facts that dictate what is permissible between and among men...when these facts are obscured or ignored or openly denied, civilization falls
Re: Quote of the day
“Of all the systems of religion that ever were invented, there is no more derogatory to the Almighty, more unedifying to man, more repugnant to reason, and more contradictory to itself than this thing called Christianity. Too absurd for belief, too impossible to convince, and too inconsistent for practice, it renders the heart torpid or produces only atheists or fanatics. As an engine of power, it serves the purpose of despotism, and as a means of wealth, the avarice of priests, but so far as respects the good of man in general it leads to nothing here or hereafter.”

Given the time in which he lived Deism was the best most could do before Darwin, and the later enlightenment.
You don't really have an excuse.

Without rigor, you go nowhere. Without doubt, you are trapped.
Re: Quote of the day
Tripped traps teach the fallibility of assumptions, as five squirrels learned last summer.
Each had assumed that a peanut butter biscuit embedded with birdseed was a culinary Everest leading to a future of either perpetual downhill disappointment or inconceivable delights, but in fact led to enslavement, a new promised land, and stories for the grand-kits.

guess who
*I do NOT YET KNOW If 'it' makes a difference or not. That is WHY I asked you 'so what?', in relation to most states in that parcel of land called "united states", you have the right to shoot and kill ANY one who breaks into your home.
If this has a difference to people being slavers/controllers while owning guns or not I will NOT KNOW UNTIL you inform me of what was the purpose of 'you' informing 'us' that "in most States", in that one little Truly insignificant place called "united states", you human beings have "the right" to shoot and kill other human being just because they "broke" into "your" home?
-----
**Ah okay. You just noted that because you found it hard to believe.
I also could find it hard to believe that a human being has the right to shoot dead another human being just because they broke into a building, except I am not at all surprised anymore of the absurd and ridiculous rulings, especially in regards to guns and shootings, that come out of that country.
