I figure it’s best to keep any yammering about United States politics, and any attendant effluvium that follows in its wake, to one or more threads, in order to not pollute pristine discussions on the forum with United States stuff, for whatever reasons that stuff is despised.
Deplorable topics should know their place.
As this link objectively indicates, Congress should not be making any rash decisions further narrowing civil-rights. Most of the country doesn't think much of their doings.

And as the riot indicates, all people can get pretty savage when what is precious is threatened and taken away. This is to be distinguished from the Leftist riots that were defended by Democrats in Congress. In those riots, people got pretty savage when they had the chance to loot retail stores.
Congress should realize that there is the principle of martyrdom to consider, and how many are ultimately martyred by the election that the Democrats corrupted.
