the responsibility of being destitute

Should you think about your duty, or about the consequences of your actions? Or should you concentrate on becoming a good person?

the responsibility of being destitute

The less resources you have, the less likely you'll be able to produce the intended effects by your efforts. Tools break, contractors lie, and so forth, each of which is the kind of problem easily overcome, even ignored, by the wealthy. The poor are literally less capable to produce intended effects and thus less responsible, all else being equal.

one is responsible for what one sets out to do, but a responsible person would make sure he had means available should thing go awry, because murphy's law applies to all who set out to do, rich or poor.

You can be responsible for your intent, sure, but i intend to save the world, and yet have no resources. Am i responsible for saving the world? Must we only choose acts we can ensure will be successful under current circumstances?
