I can see how that perspective that you (and many others) hold, is a significant part in why the world is as “awful” as it is.

I strongly disagree that my perspective plays a significant part in whether reality is awful or not awful. In the same context I can talk about how awful fish eggs taste for me personally, but until one has tasted them experientially nothing I can say about them could ever convince anyone else what is my personal experience. I've experienced ''awful'' first hand, so I have the authority to know how ''awful'' awful really feels. I also have been lucky enough to have been born very intelligent and wise, in that I know the difference between what is awful and what is not..and because I am able to know that...I know that others must know that aswell.

All and any change - individual or collective, big or small - begins from within.

Yeah we've all heard that worn out cliché many times, but it means jack crap at the end of the day. It's just another boring meaningless silly platitude, maybe even a nice soothing balm and then a bandaid on a gaping wound. Oh yes, it's ok for a cat to be run over by a car and to be left dying in agony by the side of the road because the cat has developed an ''inner peace'' that will protect it from it's suffering. NO, no amount of inner change makes a sentient creature IMMUNE from suffering. I don't think so, suffering is just so damn awful, it is really really awful to take 5 hours to die from painful multiple broken bones, and it's only 2am in the morning, and there's no one around to rescue the poor cat.

I've played around with the idea of a positive universe for years, nearly all my life, but then one day I just suddenly had a flash of insight..I felt myself pondering the bigger picture.. the real picture....I CAME OUT

• It is a challenge not to lose respect for views that are tainted by arrogance.

• More often than not, the person in front of you, too has “experienced ‘awful’ first hand” and has the same amount of “authority to know how ‘awful’ awful really feels” as you do. That their conclusions still may not be as dark as yours, does not mean that the events you’ve encountered were worse, nor - I’m sorry to disillusion you further - that you be more intelligent than them.

• Some cliches are - unfortunately for you - simply real. In time, if you are lucky (and not entirely shut off in your darkness), life may teach you that first hand.

I am lucky enough to have the keen sense of awareness to recognise that what I see is not always what it appears to be. I can logically and intelligently know from experience what's really lurking under the chocolate covered surface of reality. I'm not fooled by what I know and can see with my own eyes. got a chss date with my bst friend - who is sadly killing himself with liquor - so i take the time to value the litle time he has to this life. he did not use to be an alchoholic, but is one now - in his mid 50's. does not seem to be able to help himself, and as a friend i do what i can - noting basically -
