Let's say for the sake of argument that the universe is conscious. Let's say also that just as we regularly kill bacteria in order to keep ourselves healthy, the universe suddenly decides Earth must be purged. Given that we are above the level where adequate communication is possible to describe the effects, if not the cause, of this decision, and that it communicates effectively to us about what's going to happen, what should humanity do? Would you accept the necessity of an intelligence infinitely greater than your own if it were demonstrably real?

first ask it not too, then fight when it does anyway

as a deist, I already believe in a greater intelligence; as a natural rights libertarian, however, I ain't seein' any obligation to lay down & die just cuz the creator sez to
