Re: Trump - a puzzling enigma
Joe Biden is a terrible orator. He comes across as being barely able to read the teleprompter and is unconvincing in his delivery (not that that means much. Great orators don't have a good track record).

Re: Trump - a puzzling enigma
Has it crossed your mind that she might be a smart, successful woman that knows her own mind? How confident are you of your assessment, and what do you base it on?
Well yeah. We're all in the same boat; no one gets everything they want, and respect to everyone who fights. But while you can do the King Cnut thing and try commanding the tide to ebb, the only way you can avoid exactly the fascist authoritarianism a minarchist cannot have any truck with, is to embrace diversity. As long as you make enemies, Henry Quirk, you will have enemies.

Well, by your standards, so am I.henry quirk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 12:41 am what do you base it on?

As I said, respect to everyone who fights. Bit of a loaded term: I don't mean anyone who resorts to or even threatens violence against peaceful opposition, regardless of how heated that may be. What are your thoughts about the threats to Gretchen Whitmer? More generally, do you think right wing militias are a problem?
Re: Trump - a puzzling enigma
Henry thinks there are good people on bothe sides. Both sides except the left.uwot wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 11:01 amWell, by your standards, so am I.henry quirk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 12:41 am what do you base it on?

At first, I couldn’t imagine that there could be any militias who are leftist. Then I discovered that the US does have such a group, which started in San Quentin prison and now has 50 to 100 members.henry quirk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 1:58 pm

I noticed that you compared right wing militias, I.e. organized militants, to independent militants on the left. I was trying to balance the comparison for you, but thank you instead for making that clearer.henry quirk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 4:54 pmwell, that's nice, but I never said nuthin' about left-wing militiascommonsense wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 4:49 pmAt first, I couldn’t imagine that there could be any militias who are leftist. So, false dichotomy. You were asked about militia and you answered about militants. Very subtle.henry quirk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 5:07 pmah, I never said right-wing militias are organized militantscommonsense wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 5:01 pmI noticed that you compared right wing militias, I.e. organized militants, to independent militants on the left.
