It is always raining somewhere.raw_thought wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 6:30 pm It is not a contradiction to say that it is raining now but it was clear yesterday.
P=P is a Contradiction

Re: P=P is a Contradiction
You wrote,"(P and -P) are two different points in spacetime too.
What's your point?"
that obviously since we are talking about 2 different places in spacetime there is no contradiction.

Time is the 4th dimension. The other 3 are height depth and width. A point in spacetime can have the same height, depth and time but is not at the same place width wise. https://plus.maths.org/content/what-block-time

Re: P=P is a Contradiction
Just because 2 objects exist now ( 2020 ) Does not mean that they are the same object.
Re: P=P is a Contradiction
It is a contradiction.
you are interpreting it wrong.
Re: P=P is a Contradiction
Then you are necessarily saying that contradictions don't exist.raw_thought wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 7:04 pm that obviously since we are talking about 2 different places in spacetime there is no contradiction.
No two moments in time are the same moment in time.
No two places in space are the same place in space.

Re: P=P is a Contradiction
Truth or falsity is irrelevant.
Contradictions don't exist. Full stop.
Show me one.

What a stupid article.raw_thought wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 7:17 pm This link explains spacetime. https://plus.maths.org/content/what-block-time
From any given point in the block which way is "the future" ?

Re: P=P is a Contradiction
There is no universal "now". Imagine a time line. a____b____c . b is in the future relative a. b is in the past relative to c.
Re: P=P is a Contradiction
Then there is no universal "now" then there can be no contradictions.raw_thought wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 7:21 pm There is no universal "now". Imagine a time line. a____b____c . b is in the future relative a. b is in the past relative to c.
A contradiction requires the same NOW.

OK you can disagree with Einstein's Relativity. But it has been confirmed many times.
