Who Owns England to Phil 18/8/20
Who Owns England, by Guy Shrubsole, 2019. A good book to read for those who believe in Society and those who should believe in Society. Especially if it were expanded to mean all property and not merely land.
It portrays, whether or not meaning to do so, how politics-ethics must have a three or four pole basis, and not just linear between two poles.
The concentration of property in the ownership and control of the few is a virtually certain creation of authoritarianism and even tyranny.
The philosophy of absolute individualism and ‘three acres and a cow’ a process towards globalised anarchism.
The third alternative is the control of property by Society for the benefit of all, whether glorified National Trusts or otherwise.
There is nothing absolute about the end-values, they are all derived from the basic values such as freedom and duty and the ego – in differing balances. The road to perfection is infinite.

Yes. There must be some authorities such as those for control of infectious diseases, and those that employ experts in foreign relations and defence. I wish to God democratic international law had more power to act, otherwise I cannot see that we will avert the ecological catastrophe that is nearly irreversible by now.RWStanding wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 8:55 am Who Owns England to Phil 18/8/20
