All systems of measurement consist of the same phenomena which they measure thus causing a self referential cycle to occur. This self referentiality necessitates measurement to be a process of the phenomena diverging and reconverging into a new form.
For example in the measurement of electrons, a test apparatus must be developed which is composed of the very same electrons it is measuring. The electrons are diverged, from those being tested, and reconverged, into the test apparatus itself. The formation of the test apparatus is the formation of the phenomenon being tested.
