Science genius says the governments are slowly killing us with stress.

Facts.
The rich control the governments.

Governments impose poverty and it’s stresses with their regressive and immoral tax control policies. Both income tax and regressive sales and V A Ts.
https://www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/201 ... egressive/
Stress reduces our life expectancy and causes misery and hardship for the vast majority of us.
Most countries and our oligarch masters are the richest they have ever been and can easily afford to end poverty, should they choose to.
Should our governments and oligarch masters be urged to stop reducing our lifespans by using an immoral tax system when they could easily end poverty?
Thoughts?

Interesting video about the physical cause and effect of stress: low level jobs causing more arterial plaque, abdominal fat, higher heart rate and blood pressure. Although the video doesn’t mention it, probably the most stressful jobs are low level in which the employee has responsibility for some outcome yet can only influence the outcome through others. Examples: air traffic controller, emergency aid dispatcher.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 10:55 pm

His conclusion about the baboon troop has implications for further study. After an epidemic killed off the alpha males the troop changed to social behavior less stressful for the low level males, the troop continued to thrive. Without customary alpha tormenting, outside males who joined the troop soon changed their ways and ended their aggressive tendencies, contributing to the less stressful social fabric that had become the new troop.
Rather than deriving a conclusion from this, a more general hypothesis should be inferred and tested, namely, because of their intelligence baboons have the capacity to adapt to new conditions such as the ravages of a contagion, and continue to thrive as they did when their intelligence mitigated and incorporated the physical effects of stress into daily life. A contagion that wipes out a big portion of their population is but one of many new conditions. So is a zoo, where they also thrive.
Literal physical burnout of neuroreceptors resulting in cognitive impairment was known decades ago, although not in the specifics mentioned in the video.
The thread focus is how this relates to government, so if comparing baboons to humans it’s necessary to observe how normal baboon troops with alive alpha males interact with the more congenial baboon troop that lost their alpha/tormentors.
Would it be like when the aggressive Communist Chinese turned their attention to the peaceful Tibetans?

They are a requirement in our pyramidal social structure ands killing them just means we have to replace them.
I prefer bringing them to heel, because I think most of us are more moral than they are.
Greed, like all notions and concepts is dualistic and has both a good and an evil side.

I will not go into specific situations like Tibet.
I will remind you though, that we have had 5,000 years of stress and history of war under testosterone, men and the male war gods.
Prior to that we had 20,000 years of relative peace under estrogen and Goddesses.
Men have been too stupid to elect female leaders and gods. That or we just can't lay aside our love of war as the epitome of drama.

I'm not sure how you conflate "stress" specifically with income and sales tax.

The tax system is what keeps people poor and being poor is a stress creating situation.IvoryBlackBishop wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 11:06 pmSo this is an anarchist diatribe, I take it?Greatest I am wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 10:55 pm Science genius says the governments are slowly killing us with stress.

A better tax system would set a minimum income law.

I would believe this argument that governments want to keep us poor, but the previous historical trajectory of economy disproves this.
Living standards, including purchasing powers, size of houses, number of vacations taken, food quality, free non-work time has been increasing steadily for hundreds of years. Why is that not used as an argument that in fact our leaders actually want us to be wealthier?

If they did they would make it so. They have the taxing power and that is all they need.Spyrith wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 9:12 am I would believe this argument that governments want to keep us poor, but the previous historical trajectory of economy disproves this.

Their desire, as clearly shown, is to keep the rich rich.
There are good reasons for this as you seem to know. My point is that given the stats, we can do a lot better faster if the trillionaires create a new batch of millionaires quickly. Millionaires spend. Trillionaires don't.
Our oligarchs have been doing a great job. We just need more of it, --- now.

Think Robbin Hood and vigilantism of all kinds. The issue is not the archetype. The issue is vigilantism and being ones own law.
Cowards can never be moral.
