Re: “Anyone who has good friends is a success”
Friendships can be so greatly varied -- and maybe for that reason, I now find that I prefer one-on-ones rather than the group friend dynamics of prior years. I like to explore the unique journey/experience with each one. There are two males that I have cosmic and philosophical conversations with each, my (non-local) best friend who has known me since I was 20 still visits yearly to binge-watch PBS series, I get together with another one to play unconventional board games, and then my (local) bestie who shares my feisty sense of humor almost daily (often making each other laugh 'til tears roll down our faces). I feel very rich right now in friends. I don't take anything for granted though!
None of us are perfect...and humans can be unpredictable and inconsistent. There have been times when each other's imbalance or weirdnesses are too strange to navigate--as humans ebb and flow--so then there are other friends to dance with. Perhaps one sign of truly good friends is that they seem to come back into alignment. While others may only be good friends for "a season", and you learn what the limits are. We're all doing the best we can in this crazy world. For me, good friends help keep it all in perspective...reminding us where we want to resonate...because that shared understanding/goal is what formed the friendships in the first place.
