Sounds like you and artisticsolution should get on well asking questions and seeking solutions.
Results so far – I have distracted myself a good deal from other activities I consider less worthwhile.
What does it mean to think ? Is it mere processing in the brain ?
I hear the ring of truth in the currently fashionable view among neuroscientists that consciousness is mostly, if not entirely, an epiphenomenon. In recent years I have learned to successfully make use of subconscious thinking to crack difficult problems. It seems odd looking back at it now, it is like some homunculus working away on my behalf. Clearly a lot of my best work is done without me being conscious of it.
I am gradually coming to terms with being pushed further and further away from mind – body dualism. I would like to believe that body modulates a distinct mind, although I have no evidence for it. It seems a difficult idea to start proving. Meanwhile the neuroscientists continue to demonstrate that at least there always seems to be a biological activity associated with every thought. Yes I know that mind may simply have physical parallels, and I would not like to give-up that precious dualist position just yet, but it seems more like faith versus science every day.
I do think that everything is information. Every time scientist look closely at something it seem to be mostly nothing and a tiny amount of something. If this pattern continues then there is nothing or nearly nothing but information. The arrangement of what there is would seem to be the important feature.

Do the polish speak of ghosts so much they need distinct words to differentiate between small ghosts and other ghosts?

"Duszek" would be probably better translated as "little ghost".
It is a common word in Polish, like "little dog" (piesek) and "little cat" (kotek) etc.

I thought I would fit well in an English forum as a little ghost.
We are all like ghosts here, in a certain sense, visible only by typed letters, not even any handwriting available for graphological examination.
