The only 'greatest' thing about it is that it's the biggest bully--which is hardly something to be proud of.
It also has the stupidest and least sophisticated population, with the kind of people who actually go around describing their own country to anyone unfortunate enough to be within 'earshot' (i.e. the entire planet) as 'the greatest'.

Plus, Americans have butchered the language to such an extent that it's impossible to tell in which sense the word 'great' is being used--the correct one, or the ridiculous one (where everything is 'great' eg. the nauseating 'Have a 'great' day', 'I've just had the 'greatest' cup of coffee' etc. etc.).

I have to ask what all those desperate people are doing, pounding down their southern door in an attempt to get in, if the US isn't a good place.
It's like what they used to say during the Cuban boat-lift..."All the boats are one way."
That tells you all you need to know about America. People want to get there. Lots of people. And not just from bad countries. From all kinds of places.
Actions speak louder than words.

What a dickhead. America's immigration rate is, for its size, very small compared to many other countries. Your country is so full of crap. It's paranoid about muslims, yet it has hardly any of them and lets in only a negligible amount of the millions of muslim refugees it has created and displaced.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 9:04 pm I have to ask what all those desperate people are doing, pounding down their southern door in an attempt to get in, if the US isn't a good place.

This country in recent years has had a huge influx of not-terribly-pleasant Colombian immigrants, brought here by Big Business interests as cheap labour. Apparently they find it a better prospect than the US.

How ironic. It's the US that needs to 'stay home', especially the collection of imbecilic thugs that you call your 'military'.henry quirk wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 9:58 pm Yes, America is a nation of louts...beer-drinkin', gun-wavin', ass-grabbin', racist louts.

It's hilarious really. The way Americans on here whine about 'the media' giving them their bad image, and that they 'aren't like that at all', yet every single one of them on here fits perfectly with the so-called 'media-created stereotype'

You must be kidding. It's an unstoppable cancer and NZ is more susceptible than probably anywhere else, with its small population, young and vulnerable national identity (or what used to be its identity), and very high fast-internet accessibility.henry quirk wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 10:05 pm nope: virus-like, America is gettin' into every-thing & -one.

Children there are now growing up with American accents (complete with all the phoniness and affectations and 'like' bullshit).

I'm American: in deed, I am pure as the muddy slush under a pick up truck's tires in winter.
I'm American: in thought, I am clear and sharp as the broken window in a crack house squat.
I'm American: in spirit, I am as righteous as a rail bull beatin' the livin' hell out of a hobo.
