Why do they always assume people will panic? Humans are lazy buggers. If nuclear war broke out they would just sit and watch it on TV unless it was on their own doorstep (then they would just have to sit and either or wait for radiation sickness and a nuclear winter). Ditto if aliens visited.
But don't complain about the aliens--you will be done for 'hate-speech'.
