since then i've had my two best friends console me - first feline friend died at 19 in 2007, second still remains my best buddy at now 11 yrs old.

she give me laughs and joy at most times, and trouble sometimes, as it is in real life.
So I take it your a cat person? Tut tut! 😂... To be honest I use to dislike cats, but when my girlfriend moved in, the cat did as well, for the first year, I hated the little thing! As she did me, but now I couldn't imagine my life without her, she has a personality, love the little bugger! Lol

It's difficult to single one out, but this recent one, I think yes. I was best man for my best friend at his wedding and I was having a dance with my Mum who has parkinsons. She said to me, she couldn't dance, my niece and nephew were with us and my sister - their mother. I started crying, i've never loved anyone as much as my mother...and fact is, someone as classy as anyone in my family only need to wave their arms while on the dance floor...and that is a dance. But it was so moving to have all the people I love around me, having a jig in their own little way.

As the sage once said to me, crying is how WE show our love.

Another beautiful moment I would like to share, is today, spending time with my stepdaughter Xmas shopping! The girl hasn't had the easiest of times recently, I haven't myself... But today, everything was great, we went Xmas Market, shopping, food, drink and so much laughter!

Nice.
Thanks you yourself and Walker for your kind words.

This is a really good thread - the one I created about 'embarrassing moments' will no doubt start to drop down the list - few people want to relive their embarrassment moments - and reveal it once again to the world!

thanks for reply Dave - noted you said in other thread you are from Liverpool (thanks for anwering my inquary in said thread over in "political" - I was over there during a 3 week vacation back in april 96 (trillion yrs ago) - my dad and i rented a car (my sister was living in Oxford (her husband was a Canadian prof "on loan" i guess)...........anyway we got to see your land/s - loved Comwy(sp) - Welsh town with a wall and the home of the "smallest house" - and BTW where the folks speak galic first (and me being light/blond was many times spoken to first in Galic - then i had to do the usual "I'm an american" thing))

anyway - i rem your city (took a night there in hotel) on route from Inverness to Cardiff.

as for "cats" and "dogs" - I'm a Cat and Dog lover - you do not have to be one or the other.

- BUT the type of Dogs l like are less owner-graveling/fixated (so no Sheepdogs) - I like Terriers, Poodles, and dogs with "self indentity" beyond me. I like Dogs and Cats that like me, not worship me.

..................

as for cats, i've found some to be as a few humans - "pod persons" (I word i use for folks with no personality nor humor - my family understands the terminology when I use it in conversation) (i.e. reference to The Body Snatchers (50's and 70's versions) - ie. "plants with no personality" My dentist is one, and too many cats (and even a few dogs - but granted more cats seem to be "pods" than dogs.

so to sum up, i like cats, dogs and persons with good personalities, and disslike both dogs/cats/people that are dickish, and have no hate nor love for the podish individuals of those 3 species.

I lucked out that both of my cats had/have personality (and good ones - as a "master" (Buddy) - i did/do try to do right in upbringing, reg environment as important in shaping personality (but don't think enough to make a bad seed good nor make a plant into a flesh and blood being).

i.e. if my two cat buddies were born as plants (not perosnality) - or bad (satan) - no parenting would have fixed them...................and me being a good guy, would never give them away - i'd just be stuck with "bad kid" for a couple of decades.

but thankfully i lucked out!

Hex (she had 6 toes) - and Fidget (when young moved all the time) - now middle aged and no fidgeting, so her name no longer fits overservation.

my theme is to name my pets via there characteristics at the time i get them.

i.e. stray yrs ago was black and had a big head - lived outside and under my house for 3 yrs - i fed him and Fidget would sit near him outside - "sid" for Sidney Piotia(sp)

lol. there was another 2 yrs latter HUGE cat - like Sid, adopted himself, i like his "spirit" so allowed him to "move in" - he was HUGE, so I though "Andre" (the giant) would fit.

Sid died from sickeness (parvo? or some other - got skinny and died in 2 weeks) - Audre then moved into his territory and took over........

the latter is gone now - that is a whole other story.

Fidget and I remain though ;-).
