'Inhuman': Lesbian couple caned in public as punishment
An Islamic court has punished two Malaysian women involved in a sexual relationship by caning each six times, court officials confirmed.
The women, identified as a 22-year-old and a 32-year-old, were each struck with a rattan cane in view of witnesses at Shariah High Court in Terengganu, Malaysia.
News outlets reported the older woman never winced when receiving the blows, but her co-defendant sobbed as she was walloped by a female prison officer. Both were fully clothed.
Global gay-rights groups lambasted the court decision and called for an end to LGBT discrimination in Malaysia as well as a halt to caning, which is outlawed in most parts of the world.
“Caning is a form of torture, and to inflict this brutal punishment publicly on two people for engaging in consensual, same-sex relations sends Malaysia back to the Dark Ages,” said Amnesty International Malaysia’s interim executive director Gwen Lee.
Another outraged critic, George Varughese, president of the Malaysian Bar, called caning a barbaric form of punishment that “has no place in a modern and compassionate society such as ours.”

How not to highlight such evil acts when it is reported in the news.
The above conviction is based on what grounds?
It is because God said so! where homosexuality is condemned in the holy texts.
The fact is God do not exists.
God is an impossibility in the first place and thus there is no question of whether God exists or not.
Thus in this case the two women were cruelly tortured for reasons as claimed but which are groundless.
As I had stated, the idea of God is triggered by the desperate psychological drive to deal with an existential crisis to maintain psychological comfort.
Since a belief in God alleviate this desperation and existential pains, whatever that is against God is sensed as a threat to their psychological comfort.
Therefore the resorting to torture women for merely trying to have sex is grounded on the insecurities of the believers.
Why the believers are carrying out such cruel acts is because their religion, i.e. the ideology of Islam said so.
This is how I have been pointing out, i.e. to resolve all such cruelty the primary attention should be directed at the ideology of Islam and not on the Muslims as human beings and victims.
If we can defang the ideology in the holy texts of the religion or better still get rid of such an evil laden religion, then there will be no grounds for Muslims to cane lesbians and commit other terrible evil acts and violence in the name of Allah and Islam.
