Rationale of the title change:

Global warming, aka climate change, aka global cooling, is a secular religion that scratches the worship-gene itch. However, since secularists are likely to buck like a wild bull at the mere suggestion of such a sacrilege, would you (both singular and plural) agree that perhaps this Climate Change scientism can be defined as a branch of the social sciences, since it does involve an apparent mass hypnosis of folks who have otherwise in the past, at times, displayed skepticism and rationality in their communications?

When the West begins using facial recognition technology, combined with the social credit score, don’t be surprised if belief in the state religion of Global Warming boosts that score, and reveals the individual’s current balance of carbon credit tithing.

Understanding that the world is in you reveals to understanding how the filter of belief, such as Belief in Global Warming, affects not only apprehension of phenomena, but also comprehension, perception, and cognition. Although necessary for survival of the individual and thus the species, these feats of Dualism cannot be classified as non-dualism when passed through the filter.

Walker wrote: Thu Aug 30, 2018 2:04 amDo you think that like you, scientists have considered if campfires caused the last ice age, as part of all that?
...I'm not sure there were animals who knew how to make camp fires before the last ice age.

The last ice age started well before early human are thought to have been able to create fire, according to wikipedia

I mean, forest fires do have a considerable carbon footprint, which are mostly caused by campfires, or in other ways - by humans. But again, man's fault.
You're saying that humans will be the cause of the next ice age?
My point was that what you described as a 'natural' phenomena does in fact have a specific driving force behind it. To say that net global temperatures are getting warmer all of a sudden 'because (the reverse) ice ages can happen' isn't the most genuine example.

Clearly you are being carried along on this current denialist neocon wave and have relinquished any sense of judgement you may have had in favour of being a good player for your team.

The ones relying on the belief are the evangelists in power, many of whom look forward to the Apocalypse that is prophesied to usher in God's rule over the Earth, and thus they prefer inaction. Are you one of them?

Others relying on belief are fossil fuel multinationals, believing that their corrupt helpers in government and the media can keep profits flowing until they adjust to the new global economy based on renewable energy.

Many relying on belief are brainwashed weaklings like you who get their "information" from Fox and Breitbart because you fear and deny the actual news (sometimes) being reported outside of your preferred propaganda bubble.

Those most prone to believe in miracles believe least in reality, that's the irony...even when they're face to face with it. Trying to convince such people by logic, reason or observation is impossible since they never built their self imposed reality using these fundamental constructs by which most people encounter the real world.

Between the two there resides a 180 degree difference in perspective where those suborned by dogma consider anything on the other side which may infringe it as alien to be immediately denounced as if it were a blasphemy to their untouchable virtues. It is truly the worst kind of mental disease (though not classified as such) since depending on its critical mass by way of political power the world itself becomes endangered when not accepted on its own terms being prior, secondary to nothing we can conceive.

Clearly belief is the cornerstone of bullshit.

A few million degrees here, a few million degrees there, pretty soon you're talking some real heat. :D
