Post by Philosophy Now »

Miguel van der Velden invites us to consider the philosophical ideas of the world’s many Indigenous communities.

Hmm. This seems to have been added to. It's a lot more interesting now :)
I wouldn't want to adopt the old Maori way-of-life (philosophy?), of warfare and cannibalism though.

Ah yes. The concept of the 'noble savage' again. :/

On another note, can anyone guess at what inspired the line I wrote under my location? Hint: it's from a song. Not the exact words, but the idea.

I noticed that yesterday. It's vaguely familiar :)

I'll give another hint. Polly hails from Birmingham.

Birmingham, England. Okay, I'll give the line:

'She was a girl from Birmingham,...She was a case of insanity. Her name was Polly, she lived in a tree.'

Think punk rock.

On a side note, most people don't know the actual lyrics to this group's songs. I'm surprised that I learned them.

Think punk rock.
I can't think in that musical language.

But "think punk rock" sounds like "plim, plem, ploom". Very musical... the beat, the beat, the beat.

Or like a new type of scissor-paper-rock game, the three elements are Think, Punk, and Rock. Rock beats the thinker, punk covers the rock, and thought cuts up the punk into little pieces.

Finally, someone figured it out lol! Very good, uwot! For some reason, very few people bother with their lyrics. Perhaps they're just 'pretty... pretty va-cant!'

Hehe. Their lyrics always get me laughing.
