The murders may have had political motives. Americans are hated all over the Middle East except for Israel. American bombers destroyed more lives, homes, livestock, culture and super- and infrastructure there than any other foreign war machinery in recent times. Of course Americans are going to be killed. It's like the kamikaze attacks on the two towers of the World Trade Centre, reversed.
Grow up. If you kill others, expect to be killed for it. You or your kind.
For those who are diverting the issue to 'Americans' note there were 7 cyclists of different nationalities.
Read again,
On July 29, five terrorists in Tajikistan rammed a car into a group of seven Western cyclists, then set upon them with knives. Four of the cyclists were killed: two from the United States, one from Switzerland and one from the Netherlands.
The other 3 are of different Nationalities.
What is critical is the group was attacked because they were 'deemed' to be disbelievers and Allah in the Quran exhorts Muslims [to do their divine duty] to kill disbelievers.
Note this from the Islamists who are inspired by their holy texts and God;
1. Because you are disbelievers
"We hate you, first and foremost, because you are disbelievers;
you reject the oneness of Allah – whether you realize it or not – by making partners for Him in worship, you blaspheme against Him, claiming that He has a son, you fabricate lies against His prophets and messengers, and you indulge in all manner of devilish practices."
It reads:
2. "What’s important to understand here is that although some might argue that your foreign policies are the extent of what drives our hatred,
this particular reason for hating you is secondary, hence the reason we addressed it at the end of the above list.
"The fact is, even if you were to stop bombing us, imprisoning us, torturing us, vilifying us, and usurping our lands, we would continue to HATE you because our primary reason for hating you will not cease to exist until you embrace Islam."
READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH ... that is very critical.
You don't know how to read the news.
The cyclists likely spoke in English to each other.
The Islamist warriors who killed them probably knew only rudimentary English, and therefore they were not able to discern accents.
They saw a bunch of English-speaking cyclists. They did not card them or ask for their nationalities. They just knifed them. Believing they were all Americans.
I-----------------
Veritas, think: if you see a bunch of cyclists, all speaking Russian, would you not think they are all Russians? But many people in the world speak Russian. It used to be the Lingua Franca in the Communist world in the Eastern Block and Cuba.
How many Americans voice opposition to their military? How many criticise it? None? There you go then. All yanks are complicit.
Complicit means being involved in a wrong or illegal activity which clearly doesn't apply here so you're wrong. And how do you know that some Americans aren't opposed?
PhilX
And that's why VGT was wright. Or now you are saying, philosopher, that it is RIGHT to bomb and raze foreign countries who had done nothing wrong to you, and kill their livestock, their wives, their children, their culture?
If you are indeed saying that, and you still insist that "complicit" was the wrong word to use here, then you surprise nobody, because you stay true to your form.
Your opinion which I disagree with. My statement doesn't imply that "it is RIGHT to bomb and raze foreign countries who had done nothing wrong to you, and kill their livestock, their wives, their children, their culture." Complicit is still the wrong word. And you misspelled right as "wright." I rest my case.
Well, you denied that to bomb foreign nations who had done nothing wrong to you is wrong. You denied it by stating that not protesting that is being complicit.
Then you say that it is not right to bomb foreign nations who had done nothing wrong to you.
You simply and conclusively said that you believe in a certain truth and you don't believe in the same certain truth at the same time and in the same respect.
That just about describes all your arguments, your general mentality, and your level of consciousness.

You misinterpret what I wrote and trying to twist my words won't work for you. Sometimes it's okay to bomb foreign nations when it's the enemy you're bombing (such as ISIS). So it's not really bombing foreign nations that is taking place, it's the bombing of the actual enemy that is.
"You simply and conclusively said that you believe in a certain truth and you don't believe in the same certain truth at the same time and in the same respect."
Example please.

Note: my pointing out your spelling mistake is to show you're capable of making mistakes and when you make those kind of mistakes, then you're capable of making others.

"likely" ??
You are speculating.
The point that these terrorists killed is because they have somehow conclude they are non-Muslims via various evidence [they were they dress, look, etc.].
I have already posted the following;
"We hate you, first and foremost, because you are disbelievers; ..."
"The fact is,
even if you were to stop bombing us, imprisoning us, torturing us, vilifying us, and usurping our lands, we would continue to HATE you because our primary reason for hating you will not cease to exist until you embrace Islam.""
Thus the reason cannot be because they are Americans.
Note there are thousands of non-Americans being killed by jihadists all over the world, e.g. Europe, Middle Easts and elsewhere.

Unsupported and undocumented. Over what period of time and where and how? Your dad had brainwashed you into believing that. VA is correct while you're way off base.
VA: when it comes to VT, you're dealing with an irrational person who's very prejudiced against the US. She will not listen to facts and reason. Her hatred of the US is so extensive, she intrudes upon my non-political threads to discuss her politics which has no basis. I'm always laughing when I read the nonsense that spews out from her. She doesn't come here to debate; you're better off finding a rational person to discuss politics with.

Yes, noticed that.
These days people are so desperate and willing to sell their intellectual integrity for 'shit'.
