Pragmatism
The practical consequences. Which might be seen as merely making a wheel that goes round. Or merely assuming that an object is good because it works and represents technological progress.
But as an ethical value it relates to other values, and society, either by absence or its presence.
An altruist society is pragmatic with a view to asking what best makes society work.
For an authoritarian society pragmatism is about justification, and not asking how well it does or should work.
For a rankly individualist society, pragmatism is what individuals do, and society is merely the sum of their actions. Intrinsically, it lacks a long-view beyond current ambition.
Pragmatism is an ethical dimension standing opposite the end-value of individual autonomy.
Without some degree of pragmatism and social cohesion all forms of society fall into chaos.
The practical pursuits and acquisitions of altruist society and its members, express only whether it is altruist in intent, as a contrast to the other forms of society or anti-society.

Mostly, yeah. Hard to plan long-term for the 'group' when no one claims membership in it.
Small alliances, temporary alignments, is the best you're gonna get.
Me: I think that's acceptable, preferable even.
