Greetings from California. (The part that's not currently in flames.) My background is cognitive science (Ph.D., communication), but I'm interested in the conjunction of that field and philosophy. I'm approaching the age-old question of whether reality exists independent of us or is something we construct in our individual and collective minds from the perspective of cognitive science and evolution. I just launched a blog on this topic:
http://tworealities.org/
The purpose of the site is to understand how our subjective worlds interact with the objective world, and to explore the conditions that either allow our (objectively) false beliefs to survive or lead to their overturning. Given some of the threads I've seen posted in these forums, some of you may find it of interest.
