vegetariantaxidermy wrote: Sat May 19, 2018 1:25 pm Oh my god, an obnoxious American evangelical preacher has just hijacked Harry's wedding and Prince Charles and William can barely keep a straight face
You seem to be skipping the fact that Meghan is also an American (explains the American preacher). So in this instance, you can tell the difference.

Btw not the first time an American had married into British royalty and is the second time an actress has done so from the US.

I wonder who paid for the wedding? (Rhetorical question). That raving egomaniac was so out of place it was like an SNL skit (a very funny one)
Trust the yanks to ruin a royal wedding, events that are known for their beauty and refined good taste (and the Americans were doing ok up to that point. They seemed to be keeping their crass obnoxiousness in check for once). The poor Queen and Philip are 92 and 96 respectively and had to sit through that ranting lunatic patronising the congregation for what seemed like an eternity. I kept expecting a long walking stick to appear, hook him around the throat, and remove him from his podium.
What difference does it make if they're "yanks" or not? It would be like saying what your background is.

What is your notion of "actual liberalism" that you obstinately refuse to define?
I've defined it over and over again and it falls on deaf ears. You only have to look at the word to know what it means. It's you illiterates who refuse to define what you imagine it means.

A tip for you. Always be wary of statements using the words "all" and "only."

The question is why do you like to act stupid? And why did you say your father showed you pictures of the My Lai massacre when you were a child? You know you made up that story to try to justify your prejudice against Americans.

Not specifically me. We all saw the photos. He was a journalist and we were all brought up politically aware and anti war. And I don't have to justify anything. As I've said, I don't like anything about you or your country, except perhaps the trees and excellent quality of American-made products (few and far between now). It 'is what it is'.

Why the trees? What makes American trees so special?

I get the impression that Americans really love their trees. Even New York City is full of them.

Perhaps your unstated definition is sui generis.

It's not unstated. WTF do you think liberty means? Isn't that a clue? Or do you think liberty is a political movement too?

You obviously think that questions are definitions.

Is this a corruption of philosophy?
