How can we teach what we are incapable of? By our actions and collective values we teach that prestige and self importance are the primary driving motives for human actions once essential human needs are met. Since we are as we are, everything is as it is. Why should anything change? Just fight for prestige and the rest will take care of itself.bahman wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 6:40 pmPerhaps We didn't develop/evolve enough. We are not teaching good things to our children. Geopolitics. Why we should have such a mentality? We are either misled by Satan or are very stupid.Lacewing wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 11:32 pm I don't understand the "attack/war mentality" -- I think it must be a primitive form of insanity or stupidity. I can appreciate "sparring" for the purpose of increasing awareness and agility, but attacks that are meant for the sole purpose of destroying another and everything associated with them seems like a form of blind fury, lacking broader awareness.
Does waging war truly RESOLVE anything? (I'm not talking about the profitability associated with it.)
Can being SMARTER be more effective than using brute force?
Why do so many men like war so much? Is it because they're not smart enough to figure out anything else?Do they instead measure their "intelligence" by the size of their weapons?
And while we're at it, why do so many men attack with their penis? How is it that they can rationalize doing such a thing? Doesn't it sound ridiculously stupid? I can't imagine ever attacking anyone with my boobs.
I look forward to all responses...![]()
WAR... what is it good for?

War... what is it good for?
Well, there is one quite unusual angle that could explain why it exists (because there is no logic reasonable).
What if our world was a computer simulation? Then war would be entertainment to those who created it.
Think about that next time you play World of Warcraft, Call of Duty or Counter Strike!

Re: WAR... what is it good for?
You can only speak of YOUR OWN incapabilities. There are a lot of people capable of much more than you.
It depends on who the teachers are. You need to get out more.
We and everything are continually evolving... except for the content of your posts on this forum.
Because it CAN. Because there's always MORE to discover and try! There's always MORE that we can be. LIFE, like a flowing river, naturally seeks out all of the paths and possibilities to flow into. Humans have demonstrated magnificent potential in ALL DIRECTIONS. Your FOCUS reveals more about you.
Ohhh the wretchedness! Seriously... you are unable/uninterested to see anything else?? That's really weird, Nick.

You’re referencing strife through strength.Lacewing wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 4:31 pmDoes it seem to you that there is only one path or kind of action?
Do you think that force/acquisition is greater and more desirable than cooperation/balance?
So, you're speaking with the attack/war mentality, even as you speak of peace. Does this mean you see it as inevitable?
Peace through strength is different.
It uses strength as a deterrent to war, not as a contest to win.

Re: WAR... what is it good for?
War is started by empire building countries and escalated by defenders. War is also started by countries making provocations until one country commits an act of war.
A balance of power is a deterrent for war.
A balance of power is a deterrent for war.

- In regards to peace between nations, and also internally, actions of power bring peace while actions of weakness bring war.
Do you think that force/acquisition is greater and more desirable than cooperation/balance?
Cooperation/balance is predicated on strength, not weakness. India had its spice strength, China its tea strength, Sugarland its sugar strength, the American south its cotton and tebaccy strength. So, you're speaking with the attack/war mentality, even as you speak of peace. Does this mean you see it as inevitable?
You’re referencing strife through strength.
Peace through strength is different.
It uses strength as a deterrent to war, not as a contest.
What is inevitable is peace through strength, and then war.
Physics and chemistry explain the why of this inevitability in terms of inertia, balance, and entropy.
Reality explains it in terms of, the pendulum swings.
War is conflict.
No conflict, no war.
No internal conflict, no internal war.
The absence of internal conflict indicates peace of mind.
This peace of mind is independent of circumstances.
With this peace of mind, spontaneous ahimsa is the dividing line between good and evil, between human life and savage innocence of a wild animal.

Man unlike the leopard can change what he is through consciousness. Man can change from an animal living by mechanical reaction into a conscious being capable of conscious action reflecting a conscious perspective. Of course the indoctrinated secular world opposes this transformation as it must to preserve the imagination it lives by. But this doesn't deny the potential which some individuals can actualize.
War is just a lawful mechanical reaction to the progressions of universal laws. The only means of minimizing this reaction is through conscious action the secular world must reject. So since we are as we are everything will continue as is including cyclical wars with bombs, guns, knives, computers, or whatever else is fashionable at the time..
You live in La La Land and believe a leopard can change its spots because of the new things it does. Regardless of where it goes and what it experiences it is still a leopard and exhibit the same qualities of a leopard. Of course it can be sedated, put in zoos and have its pursuit of life dulled but it is still a leopard. Conditioning doesn't change it.Nick_A wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 9:40 pm

Re: no offense intended, but...
Questioning each of your complete sentences somehow compromises your message? Uh no, it made no difference. You could have easily answered my questions, as you THEN went on to do.
So, after being a big baby, you evolved to say this:
Yes. Peace of mind is independent of circumstances! I'm adding: Broader awareness can evaporate conflict because it sees a bigger picture, along with more potential. I'm questioning why mankind is so primitively intoxicated with a small-minded attack/war mentality. If we think we're so evolved, let's ask such questions instead of only defending and reinforcing how we've been or how we are.Walker wrote: ↑Sat May 12, 2018 10:27 am As a principle, war begins within.

If you really think that nothing can change, then why the fuck do you keep preaching? I'll tell you why... because it's ALL FOR YOU! You are PLEASING YOURSELF with your sermons.
So in one breath you'll say that MAN MUST CHANGE... and in another breath you'll say that MAN CAN'T CHANGE. Fuck you, Nick. I'm so disgusted by your dishonesty and wavering position to please yourself. GO DO THAT IN PRIVATE!!!

Our being as it is cannot change. We are a creature of reaction and only capable of ADAPTATION to cycles of external change. However Man through conscious EVOLUTION can change what we ARE.
You can hate and reject this idea with all your might as it pertains to the cycles of war and peace but it is still there and is a principle which has transformed lives regardless of how it is hated.
Regardless of FU's the ancient idea I propose which is the essence of Christinaity remains. Organic life on earth with the exception of Man cannot change what what it does. Natural Man on the earth as a whole is a distinct quality of being and all our reactions will be normal for this quality of being. Even theough Man as a whole cannot change what we do and will continue to follow the great cycles of nature's laws, we can change what we ARE through conscious evolution. So in one breath you'll say that MAN MUST CHANGE... and in another breath you'll say that MAN CAN'T CHANGE.
