Isn't it a tad arrogant to just 'assume' that a child is automatically going to be happier and better adjusted in the US than in their own country? How incredibly condescending and racist to presume that all Africans and Asians are desperate to leave their own countries to live in America and couldn't possibly love their own homeland and culture; that they will automatically be better off in the US, the land of rampant obesity, incurable stupidity, school shootings, and fundy kkkristianity. Madonna even 'forgot' to ask for permission from the family of one of her 'acquisitions'; they were understandably upset. These are children; NOT fashion accessories like a chihuahua in a pink Gucci handbag.
I wonder what would happen if the tables were turned. How wonderful it would be if black Africans started going to the US to adopt white American children to take back to Uganda/Zimbabwe/Somalia etc. etc.
What do you think the reaction in the US would be?
