Hi Bill, nice to see you back. I enjoy your thought provoking ideas.

How this one here interprets your OP is thus...

The first part is that people try to imagine their way of the unavoidable rawness that is life / reality ....that they them self did not choose to participate in...so they attempted to escape reality by inventing their own reality via dreams as a way to escape the one imposed upon them.

The second part is the people who then owned their dreams, then find them selves having to live up to a certain standard, an image, an expectation that they may have set too high for them self, that they have to continually maintain, which is not a relaxing and free way to live, so by owning their dream they are doing the complete opposite of what their original goal is which is to be free.

That's my way of looking at it anyway...

Yes Bill, outwardly in the world of forever changing and fading duality I have experienced this as my own life. But inwardly I am always resting at zero point, that cannot fade, and is always here....I have never left zero point place because I have never entered it. I AM IT.

It is my true being the immutable un-conscious self in which all my apparent waking dreams appear and disappear.

I'll admit that as I am thinking of OP, I am lost in reverie about embarrassingly rich compensation for being a philosopher.

In the same light, ignoring is one of a infinite multitude of responses that is available to all of us.

I for one, ignored this entire forum for a period of months not too long ago. I was able to magnify & change in a way that I would not have been able to would I have held-on to an emotional attachment that I had developed over the years here. That period, in which I did not think about or interact with The PhilosophyNow Forums turned-out to be an extremely, EXTREMELY positive crossroad looking back.

You know me too well

I crave more robust experiences in the Forum . Yet I am blind to my glaring weaknesses and in need of direction in order to self-improve in these areas. I certainly can do the work -- with guidance, that is.

I am asking you to guide me because every element in your posts is thought-provoking, and because I understand your use of spacing. I don't presume that you are willing to mentor me, but still I beg you to give me a few pearls of wisdom.

Awaiting your advice, while hoping that my blatant flattery and piteous request will inspire a valuable response...
