I have never voted in a political election, but I did vote for Champagne Sherry for Homecoming Queen only because her boyfriend dragged me halfway across campus to do so. Her name was Sherry and her campaign slogan was "Vote for Champagne Sherry" with a picture of a couple of bubbly champagne glasses. Sherry did win the election, and I realized the best way to win an election is to get people to vote for you and not the candidate.

How did Champagne Sherry get her name and which college did this happen at?

All I know is that her first name was Sherry, and the Champagne part was just her campaign moniker. It happened at the University of Wisconsin, where the plaque on Bascom Hall reads, "Whatever may be the limitations which trammel inquiry elsewhere, we believe the great state University of Wisconsin should ever encourage that continual and fearless sifting and winnowing, by which alone the truth can be found."
